Hey guys, my PSN name is WiseBears. So here is my feeling and thoughts on my experience thus far: Day 1: I have realized that there doesn't seem to be any REAL tutorials that really allow you to get used to the game controls. One way in which I would love to see this fixed, is by allowing for us to choose from a list of different game control settings. Or, by allowing us to program every button on the controller ourselves. Thus of course, just allowing for there to be a basic control setting for any user, then allow us to move the controls around. The next thing I want to talk about, is the walking up hills problem. There are parts of the game, were it seems like you would be able to walk up it, but you can't. What I have noticed about the programming of this though, is that it's very rough when you try, and can't. It has even done damage to my character, getting kinda stuck, trying to jump up what I believe I should be able to walk up. One things I would like to compliment though, is being able to get into a vehicle, and being able to switch what seat you are in at a push of a button. Though at the same time, this button is right next to the "jump out of vehicle" button. By doing this, I have noticed that I have accidentally jumped out of vehicles at some bad times. Again though, perhaps with different button settings, this may be resolved? Another thing I see that could be done, is perhaps making it so we have to hold the "get out" button, for at least a full second.
Day 2: Personally, I have noticed I am not that good at the game, which my bet is it has something to do with my character's skills. Which is not a problem, I just need to play some more, and level up my skills. One thing though I would like to ask for, is for tips from you, what you think may help me out on the field. Just a little side note, I am a Noble in Halo Reach, and I believe, and have been told, that I am a pretty good player. I can handle any weapon in there pretty well, including the sniper, magnum, DMR, Banshee, and the Warthog (splatters & driving). Up until yesterday, Halo has been my main FPS game, it may still be my main FPS, as I believe accuracy should not be something your "character" needs to skill up. I believe that when a grenade explodes, its damage dealt, should be no different if a "noob" threw it, or a "vet" threw it. The only way i can see a difference in damage dealt, is if they were different kinds of grenades. |

Get all the important shield skills up to and including shield management before getting an advanced suit. Type2 shield tanks brilliantly. Weaponry lvl 4 so you can get forge gun lvl1 Type 2 suits for cheap gear. SMG ops is highly recommended because you can have an SMG on any fitting. |

They've said they're adding controller remapping SOONGäó so that's one problem addressed.
As for the skills affecting your in-game accuracy and damage, think of this as FPS with RPG elements. In RPGs, your character gets better at things as you play more. Same rules apply here. It's carried over from EVE. But rest assured, a skilled gamer CAN overcome the disadvantages of their gear/skills against a less accomplished player.
My girlfriend, in her third match, killed a Prototype Assault while she was in a Militia Assault suit, using the Militia SMG with only Weaponry level 5 giving her any bonus to using it.
By the way, level up Weaponry to level 5 - because +25% damage to EVERYTHING is a good bonus. |

anytime your in game with me, you can ask me anything ya want.
also, CCP games are very complex and certainly dont hold your hand. anything goes( eventually friendly fire will be put in) and there is no cheap tactics as long as you win. This can deter some and attract some.
A good way to get better is to learn about RL tactics and get a good sense of working with your team. This game will also require a much higher level of awareness than other shooters such as COD or BF. youll get it, dont get discouraged.
also, find a good group of guys to play with |

also, you might want to check if you have voice chat turned on in the in-game settings |

In the Options menu, Voice Chat defaults to "off" - not the best plan, but it's what we have to work with (for now). Turn it on, and you'll be able to hear people. |

I agree with the controller settings as I much prefer to use triangle to switch weapons etc. I'm not sure if this has already been posted elsewhere but will we have the option to take off/change the sights on the guns? I'm really not a fan of the current ones and would much prefer iron sights. |
