I have noticed that all guns are uniformed and that should be a crime. We should have modulated guns to where we can change scopes clip size or even range of coarse each set of mods have there own drawbacks for instance u put on a longer barrel it increases the guns range and accuracy ant the expense of rate of fire or u increase its mag size at the expense of greater fitting costs.
Possiple mod catagories
Scopes Barrels Ammo types (after all ships have diffrent ammos and these are scaled down copies in a sence) Stocks and grips Misc.
Other catagory ideas are welcomed

I like the idea, giving player's more options is always a good idea. also it would be cool if we can choose the way are character look's, like maybe allow us to pick are own helmets, and pick are own camo maybe. Just having little thing's like would be cool. |

Well id imagine that these skills that these skills would have prerequisits pacific to the gun as in a customize mod for an assault rifle would need assult rifle lv5 and possibly a couple others ina sence id imagine customizations only be available to t2 weopons if there implamented so its not like u could jump into game with a golden burst riflewith front grip and heatseaking scope

I could see modable weapons. The best way I think it could be done is 2 fold. 1 have a skill that opens up after you have a weapon at lvl 5 operation 2 have the mods also effect the fitting requirements of the weapon |

I remember that they mentioned before that the lack of ammo types in Dust was an attempt to make the game simpler than EVE. I've seen a few people complain about complexity in Dust, but if Dust were on the same level as EVE, I don't think your average FPS gamer would be able to get into it without a 100 page manual.
As far as attachments, you can see in the first Weapons DevBlog that the GEK-38 pictured had some kind of underbarrel attachment, so I think we might see those in future. I'd love the idea of scopes as well, since some people prefer to just have a red-dot, and others(like myself) prefer a higher magnification. The current weapon variants offer different zoom levels with their capabilities, but being able to customize them would add another layer to the game that I think would act to improve the gameplay overall. |

EVE is not a game for the masses, Dust514 won't be a game for the masses either. I see no reason to simplify the brilliant complexity of EVE just to allow the gaming world's lowest common denominator to be able to play.
Make Dust complex. Give me 300 different ways to equip each weapon. There is a large group of players that will gladly spend the time testing such weapons and components in order to reap their benefits. If the Devs want to leave a window for non-hardcore players make it so weapons can be sold by Dust players with different load outs. So perhaps some knuckle head doesn't want to try out all the weapon variants to see what will work the best. I'll try them out, package them into various configurations, and resell them at a tidy profit.
Seriously, lets make sure that this game has the depth and complexity needed to keep the base [hard core players] coming back to Dust for years. Otherwise those of us who lust for that depth will just get bored.

Something that was left out a bit was round size, although this goes into ammo type category. The magazine, breach, feed assembly and barrel would all have to be modified to compensate for different round sizes alone. that would all come down to bigger bullet larger deadlier hit smaller bullet greater capacity.
Too take it a step farther, you could then modify said round type for things like Tungsten High AP rounds for AV, incendiary rounds for shredding personnel armor, EM pulse for shredding Personnel shields . All this would be great, but hard to implement.
Perhaps this is something that could be left for the industry side of DUST. Gun manufacturers have to have some reason to get into the trade. |

Ooo, I like this idea. You'd have to make sure that larger ammunition resulted in more kick/spread during automatic fire. |

We should be able to change the mag to increase ammo, the loading mechanism to increase rate of fire, bullets to increase damage and range, barrels to shoot more accurate and increase range, muzzle to decrease its recoil, noise and muzzle flash, scopes and the hull to reduce weight. Those that increase stats need a lot of CPU and PG so you can mount just a few or mount some that take fewer PG and CPU than the standard parts to make the weapon not too PG and CPU expensive. There should also be additional parts which replace grenades, sidearms or melee weapons. There should be melee weapons which replace the normal melee weapon and are mounted on the muzzle, launchers that replace grenades and are mounted under the barrel and special weapons that replace the sidearm weapon and are mounted on both sides of the barrel. They have the advantage that you swap faster to them respectively they throw the grenade farer. |
