With the recent addittion of the asian players ive noticed a massive influx of lag to the game. whats the point in making beta codes regional but allowing players to jump into u.s. servers at will? i watched players lag through solid objects as the players on our own region were getting killed with one round from an assault rifle by these same players. point being... if you live in asia or eu STAY ON YOUR OWN REGION!!!!! DO NOT SELECT U.S. SERVERS SO YOU CAN LAG LIKE CRAZY!!!! |

Lag data... can be important you know. Information like:
1. How far away can we connect players from and still make the game work properly? 2. Is there a way for us to reduce lag on such connections from our side? Will such require a bit more Player-Side info? 3. Ways to cope with lag, such as changes in coding to make it less advantages to exploit. 4. Such information will also help against hackers who, in the future, might try some enforced lag "trick" to get an edge on their opponents.
Knowing all this information now, instead of later... I'd consider that to be a plus for this game's release... So keep exploiting the lag people, they need to know how to handle it. (unless CCP states otherwise) |

This is my first game with CCP, ive seen plenty of other games go down hill from lag priblens like this. with what ive heard Bout CCP it hopefully wont be a problem on release. but its annoying as hell at this point. yes its still a beat and not a finished product, but how can we give accurate feedback when we cant play the game in its current configuration due to lag issues created by people not smart enough to stay in the server meant for the area they live in?

I live in New Zealand.
When we only had EU and US servers, both are about equally far from me.
I don't know exactly where the Asia server is based, but there's a reasonable chance of it not being any closer. |

I know there are some distances involved. my point is that people are jumping into other servers and creating more issues. lag data has value, im not debating that. but i think that at this point in testing people creating more lag makes it harder to give accurate feedback about actual development issues. These are most likely the same people that think stats from a beat matter. your k/d means nothing when it sabotages actual testing. |

The beta codes have to be region locked b/c the PlayStation Store (where the game download comes from) is region locked. |

I feel the same when the yanks turn up in the EU servers. You can't react to breach rifles lag. By the time you know you have been shot you are already dead :( |

Exactly tony. i stay on u.s. servers for that reason. Lag can go either way. it can make you untouchable or make you a target dummy. the problem as i see it which i stated above is that we are supposed to be testing. providing feedback for game improvment isnt really possible with lag messing up the game play. every beta is going to lag and have problems, but why inrentionally make it worse by not staying on your own server? |

Actually, you make it worse by only playing on the closest server.
Example:
If everyone just doesn't go on any servers that cause lag----> lag is never addressed---->people will exploit lag when it goes live (this is guaranteed)----> lots of imbalanced complaints.
If people try to play on servers that cause lag----> lag is looked at by the developers and tweaked----> lag exploits decrease----> fewer people complain about lag.
-there is no way to reduce lag if you don't have lag to test with.

I'm curious to find out where the Asian servers are. I know many game companies use Singapore for Australian servers, even though the network route from Australia to Singapore is substantially longer than from Australia to the US. |
