So far I really like this game but just a little unsure of a couple of things dealing with my character. If a buy a skill in the marketplace, do I have to do anything else to make use of that skill? For example, I bought Light Weapon Upgrade, It shows I own one but do I need to do anything to activate it? |

Yes you do have to do more.
You have to go into the skills section of your character sheet and upgrade the purchased skill. Each upgrade gives you some marginal increase whether it be extra range, extra damage, extra cpu etc. |

You have to buy the Skill with ISK then spend the Skill Points to learn it.
So once bought, go to your Skills, flick R2 to "Available Skills" and click the skill to spend the Skill Points to learn it.
You can cut the middle man out and buy the skills directly from the skill list instead of searching the Marketplace. |

Go into the skills section in your character sheet. Then tab right (R2) to go to available skills, and select that skill you bought. That will give you the option to activate it. Then you have to select it again to add skill points.
Normally I just buy the skill directly from the available skills tab.
If the skills not showing up there, you just haven't met the requirements for it yet. See those by pressing triangle for info, then tab to the "requirements" tab to see what they may be. Of course you have to do that in market if it is not in the Available skills tab. |

Thanks everyone for the quick replies. Also I bought the GEK- 38 assault rifle and now its telling me fitting is invalid that i need to restock. So I replaced it with another weapon but now I dont see it at all. What has happened?
EDIT: If it helps it was the killswitch that you buy with AUR |

Are the weapons bought with AUR only meant to be of limited use? Ive bought the killswitch twice now and its made my fitting invalid during the match both times. If I hit up a supply depot will that make it last longer or is it whatcha got is whatcha got and that is all? |

each time you die you lose 1 of that fitting so if you are buying, buy in bulk. I usually restock all my fittings on a suit to 50 copies

The supply depot only resupplies ammo of your current fit in that match - but not grenades, remote explosives, nanohives, etc... only the ammo for your primary and secondary weapon (if you have one). I believe the supply depots in the skirmish game also repair armor damage (please correct me if I am wrong). |

all weapons and armor that you buy with isk or Aur (except militia gear) have to be stocked cause when you die you lose what ever items you had in the drop suit. so if you die more than 1 time a match you need more than 1 of each item ...i normally buy gear it seats of 30 just to see if i like them then can either keep restocking that item or switch to different items.
also a Tip that some people dont know is you can restock fittings during a match ..after a death before you pick a spawn point hit start and go to fittings like normal and you can restock then spawn and go |

Only hte militia items remain. I have no idea if there will be future non-militia items that will be behaving this way, apart from proportional, unique items, like the dragonfly suit from the merc pack. |

And here I thought I was the only one buying stuff in sets of 30.
Another tip: Remember that if you share items across dropsuits, it is still uses 1 item for each dropsuit it is shared across. Example:
Dropsuit 1: NanoHive + repair Tool Dropsuit 2: NanoHive + Nanite Injector
Since the NanoHives are shared across the 2 Dropsuits, Dying in "Dropsuit 1" will also remove a NonoHive from both dropsuits since it is a shared resource. |
