Sorry if there is a thread like this already.
I am tired of always having to fight other players.
I would welcome the chance for PvE or to fight AI controlled enemies in modes like objective based missions, base assaults, raids on pirate positions, and horde \ defense missions as a few examples.
This would allow the newer players a chance to to get skill points and ISK without the constant fear of the better players not just in gaming skill but in-game skills as well.
You could also make it where there are like cool down times on the missions so that if someone completes them to quickly and wants to continue playing them they wouldn't be able to and thus would be forced to play PvP until the cool down times are over.
Several different difficulty levels would be nice as well for the PvE \ AI controlled enemy missions.
On top of that there could even be a tutorial that would allow the play to begin with the skills they would prefer to begin with.
On the fact of how these missions would be selected or offered is simple, like the current set up for battles have a window \ area that offers miscellaneous missions.
Comments and other ideas would be welcome.
I just like gathering ideas and possiblities in the future just so that we can debate \ put our opinions together. the Reason why the Topic is called PvE Ideas. |

Search function.
PvE, AI, or Rogue Drones will all give plenty of results. Rouge Drones will also give a few, because some people think the drones are wearing makeup.
Basically, the only confirmed PvE in the game is a "survival" or "horde" style mode based around destroying Rogue Drones - which are AI controlled machines with tentacles that have gone mad and are trying to destroy everything. |

Yea I have read about that but was hoping for a little more of a variety of chooses.
Regardless PvE would add a new angle to the game. |

Well, asking for MORE PvE options is a completely different topic from what I read.
That's all they've confirmed so far though. Probably that will be the only PvE option on release, but I'd expect more to come with the (free) expansions that will inevitably be released.
There have been a couple of threads asking about non-combat roles and aspects to the game as well, so adding those into the mix could also potentially be quite interesting. Salvaging abandoned equipment, crashed ships, etc. They could add construction and mining operations where you're on-world manually performing the normally-automated tasks with a chance to increase the speed or improve the results in different ways. |

I want a PVE mode where you're hired to secure an objective on a life-bearing planet, and you must fight off dangerous indigenous predators like giant bug-like creatures the size of dinosaurs, or packs of moderately intelligent creatures that hunt similar to wolves. I really hope no one says the "there are no aliens in EVE" crap, I don't want to have to copy and paste my list of EVE extraterrestrial life yet again.

Yea, thats the same as I have found surfing the web for answers. My thoughts of the non-combat roles could be more of a soldier manning a vehicle and then using it and its systems to find and mine \ extract the resources. Then on top of that there could be a chance pirates or rogue drones could attack you as you were transporting the resources back to the refinery like facility.
That random chance of attack would open up the need for more than one person doing such a job or the hiring of a security team. |

That a good idea, along the lines of Lost Planet type creature would be cool. Especially on the exploration side of the game it
would work best. |

The Lost Planet series is a great source of inspiration for this kind of PVE. If I were you I would update the thread to make it clear that you're aware of the rogue drone PVE mode that's coming, and that this thread is for different proposals. |

I have modified my original post and understand your concern. I just want to hear true and honest ideas. |

THIS IS NOT MY IDEA, but I forgot who the OP was. The guys idea was incredible though. You know how you can salvage in EVE? This guy came up with the idea that there could be solo/co-op instances, ie a cave, or a wrecked ship if you will. You could shoot NPC enemies, in mission style, semi scripted, ie like Gears of War Horde, or other survival modes. At the end, you could get salvage that you could even sell in EVE, perhaps on a downed Gitsi ship for example. |

And you know we already have a (currently unused) Salvage screen in DUST's post-mission stats, so there are plans for salvage already, right?
Cool idea, but I have a feeling it's probably part of what's already planned.
Salvage missions around crashed ships would be pretty awesome. And to make it better, they could dynamically generate the ships to salvage when a ship gets destroyed in EVE within a certain distance from a planet - so if you know there's been a massive space battle, you can go looking and find a few Mercs hunting around the planets for loot. And kill them to steal all their stuff. This is New Eden, after all |

I would like to see an open area, Lets say corp takes a planet everyone affiliated to that corp should have access to drop into it. As it is protected so to say the only enemies you run into are A.I. Indigenous lifeforms or even Drones (for example perhaps we can have A.I. drones we can buy in EVE and send to do recon on planets in dust?) But this open area could be outskirt areas like a jungle map area, long expansive area that one could get lost in if they don't use a map. Plenty of A.I. enemies to fight (with a 75% lower Skill and ISK reward vs a real PVP matchup) that also drop salvageable items that can be used. Massive city port areas that mercs can do open trade and what not. Perhaps a planet that is under one corps influence could have a city port that welcomes all to travel into it and do open trade. Now the corp affiliated players will of course be salvaging and collecting stuff from the planet and most likely selling it on the market and if something is in abundance on a planet it makes since that people will generally place a lower value on it.
However you might have players wanting to buy low and sell high thus you give birth to merchants buying low in one planetary system only to sell it at another system that is in high demand for it? Perhaps we need to have EVE players to transport the players? Not saying to replace EVEs economy or vice versa but having a merc economy and a EVE economy that can be integrated. |

1x drilling machine aka strip miner II @ 140 million isk 2x conveyor belts @ 100 mill each 2x refining stations @ 20 mill each 1x refinery uplink node ( to send stuffz to tami in spaceships) @ 0 isk
= profit for me = mining for duster ? = most boring thing you will ever do in your gaming life ( this is what Planetary interaction in eve is).
i am all for PVE, i am one of the many masters at it in eve, so here in dust will be no different.
what i would like to see is more open module slots.
shield suits without no active/passive resists shoddy amounts of shield and no boosting ability. i sure hope armor tanking fairs better, and those weak reppers get buffed up.
bringing eve type ship setups to a hard core PVE sideline. buffed tanking but AI with decent tanking and a better repair AI. as for pve side i aint got a clue , as long as its not boring, changes constant ( no rinse and repeat eve missions please), changing storylines with the times, no 3yr old storyline that needs updating as its way old.
abillity to planet hop,
open map, select N7-BIY , enable clone jump, step into clone bay, screen blackens, brain reboots, HUD enables, you leave clone vat in a new station/planet holding area. Gallente/caldari/amarian/minmatar. 0.0 comes later stage when you think you can handle the uber AI, risk v reward system in place, possible solo ( 4hrs of play) or squad/corp play ( half the time, double /triple the enemy count)

User generated PVE missions?
creating a game editor to allow the user access to building small to medium sized mission/quest, this would give thousands of missions across the universe that would be some what unique. As for salvage drops I would say it would be random the user only can create from a template what kind of enemies and where they are stationed, setting patrol routes for some or even text wording at certain locations. Something like INfamous 2 had simple but somewhat complex allowing the devs to not worry about new content for the PVE side every month users would be adding stuff.
Not that the devs wouldn't be able to make content but they wouldn't have to worry about content story wise just about improvements to weapons and mods etc. sorry just woke up I need my coffee |
