EDIT: This was a post I made on 7/25 and feel it right to bring it back up in light of the new DEV Blog
Corporate Management
With the new Player made Corps coming to DUST514 comes along with it the integration of DUST and EVE in Tranquility. This is all confirmed by both a Playstation Blog and a New DEV Blog (little difference between the two).
Looking at some key statements here this is what you can now expect as both a Corporate CEO and a Corp member.
Quote:You can be a CEO or director of any Corporation in EVE Online or DUST 514
You can accept members from both EVE Online and DUST 514
Although all aspects of Corporation management related to EVE Online in DUST 514 will not be available initially, you will be able to appoint a player from EVE Online as a director for your corporation in DUST 514 who can then act as your right-hand man and be able to utilize all aspects of the Corporation feature for the EVE Online players.
CCP Omen DEV Blog
This means a DUST Merc has all the abilities a EVE CEO holdGÇÖs, this also means a DUST Merc CEO will be able to own SOV.
Now we are just going to cover the Basics here of what will get you out the gate and started.
In EVE to start a Corporation you need the Corporate Management to start.
Corporation Management: Basic corporation operation. +10 corporation members allowed per level (Goes up to Level V so 50 members)
Now that you have the Skills you can create your Corp. Do this by going to your Corporation Tab in your NeoCom. You should have this option available :
Quote:Create New Corporation: This enables the player to create his or her own Corporation. GÇóCorp name and Logo. GÇóTicker: to select a descriptive abbreviation for the Corporation's name. GÇóDescription of the Corporation's: services and purpose GÇóTax Rate
Now that your Corp is made, you might want to make out some Roles and Titles you will give people. You can give costume roles to any individual or to make things easier Create some Titles. Titles are a pre-created set of roles and access rights that can be assigned to a member. A CEO or a director can access title management. Then all you have to do is put a Title on one or multiple members granting them whatever roles are allowed through such Titles. Now here we go.
Roles are used in EVE to delegate access to various Corporation functionalities. There are two main types of Roles available: Normal and Grantable. A Normal role such as Accountant gives a member the right to perform various accounting related actions for the Corporation. However, if a member is given the Grantable Role of Accountant, he or she also has the ability to give and take the Role of Accountant from other members of the Corporation. Grantable Roles are assigned by the CEO and should be given only to those who have proven themselves trustworthy.
These roles are set up from what would be most useful to a DUST Corp to not so much.
Director: A director is, for the most intents and purposes, the same as a CEO.
Fitting Manager: Can save ship fittings as corporate fittings. (Now could this role allow a DUST merc to set up fittings and Dropsuit for a DUST Corp member to use?)
Personnel Manager (Recruiter): A Personnel Manager can process applications and sign up new members.
Contract Manager: Allows a contract manager to create and accept contracts on behalf of their corporations. Notes- The contract manager will need to have access rights to the proper wallet divisions to do so.
Trader: Can buy and sell on behalf of his corporation with those wallet divisions he has access to. Can view the corporation wallet transaction log. Can access the corporation deliveries hangar.
Diplomat: Allows a corporation member to set or alter standings towards other players, corporations or alliances. Communications Officer: Grants the right to send DUST Mails to your corporation and alliance, and allows you to create corporation and alliance calendar events.
Accountant: Accountants can monitor and manage the financial affairs of the Corporation
Now Access Rights
Wallet Divisions GÇô Accounting (Divisional) Checking a box for a particular wallet division for a member will allow that member to take ISK from that wallet division or otherwise use that wallet division as per his other roles.
Hangar (or Armory) Access A member can have either a "query" right or a "take" right from a hangar division. Query is look but don't touch Take is touch all you want.

Only friendly advice I can give is this: be careful about who gets roles - because that can come back to haunt you. |

While the information you have provided is true, it is the most basic level, and grossly over simplifies corp management. While the controls and menu's as set out are rather simple, their execution has been the bane of many upon many CEO's in EVE online, and I doubt they will get any easier when the bunnies are added. more than likely new skills will be added that will allow mix corps, hopefully we will get some functional overhauls, but since there are only two things in eve that scare the devs, the Physics engine, and the corp managment system, my money is on it not being changed.
While starting and running a Dust corp is a good thing, I caution anyone looking to do it, go talk to CEO's of EVE corps, find out the ways they deal with permissions, role management, and member classification. |

OMG this is so true. Trust is huge when it comes to placing roles.
If anyone has questions or comments please post and ether myself or someone else should be able to address it ( could be in theory) |

And your right. This list is to give an idea to those who have none of what to expect from starting to running a Corp in EVE. Some knowledge is better then none and it is in hopes that it would intice those seeking more knowledge to go out and find it. That is why LINK's are posted as well with more in depth information on the Topic. Since I am limited in space within the OP the information I provided is all I could fit.
Thanks for the Post and please keep them up

Corporation management in EVE is horrible, obscurely arcane and a pain in the ass by all accounts. I'm hoping for a complete revamp in the winter expansion, it really needs it.
Basing a concept for Dust corp management on the existing EVE systems is a mistake IMO and will not encourage Dust players to form corporations. |

It is what the DEV Blog and countless interviews have lead us to believe. I don't see a mistake in Basing a theory on this and have provide the facts in OP. If you have insight to how the system will truly be then please provide. Otherwise the mistake made here is on your end.
Thank you for you Comment and Concern |

All I get from the Dev Blogs is that Dust and EVE corporations will share the same membership and management tools. It doesn't say what those tools will be, whether they'll be the current tools or a new set (shared across EVE and Dust).
It has already been stated that EVE's winter expansion will be industry focused and I'm hoping that this includes a reworking of the current tools, which are generally agreed to be a bit of a nightmare.
As the tools stand they are not fit for purpose and will be off-putting to a Dust player who hasn't any experience of EVE. The skills required may remain, but again that says nothing about the actual management tools.
I would have thought that every effort to encourage Dust player's integration into the social and economic life of New Eden should be encouraged and IMO this means CCP taking a look at the current tools and making them more accessible (this does not mean dumbing them down, it's a matter of presentation) |

Cool now we can discus this. You are talking about Tools where this post is about Roles and Titles.
As far as tools go they will be different for DUST then EVE. To what changes are made is unseen but in the Tools of the Trade that I have Quoted in OP it states
Quote:For some of these functionalities, we will be providing a native UI on the console client, while others that are deemed to be less immediately critical will be available on EVE Gate to start with.
That in it self tells you changes will be made to the Tools given to a CEO in DUST then EVE. More changes might be made come winter expantion but the game will be out months before then and so I don't foresee any major changes to current roles. Since it states "ThatGÇÖs because EVE and DUST share the same player-run corporations." in the Beginnings DEV Blog, the same roles I have stated above will be grantable from a DUST CEO wether it be to Capsuleers souly or some of which can be placed on DUST Mercs as well. Of course new roles may be made but I can not see any of these current roles being completely thrown away on launch |
