1. Prevents spamming of small missile turret rounds, which currently give virtually no incentive to ever stop mashing the fire button when you're using one. Weapon spam is probably something to avoid in FPS games.
2. Lets the weapons be put into niches more readily. Limited the ammunition of a large railgun to 20 or 30 rounds would give less incentive toward spending rounds on infantry. Missiles, having a middle amount of ammo, would be more general-purpose (especially after some balancing) while blasters could have thousands of rounds.
3. More tactical. Weapon variants could factor in ammo differences, maybe even an expanded magazine module could be added. Some kind of vehicle-variant nano hive might restore vehicle ammunition, as well as the resupply structures.
In general I think moving toward vehicles having limited ammunition would only be a benefit to the game. It seems odd to me that infantry have limited ammo, and skills to affect their ammo, while vehicles do not and can simply shoot forever. I think vehicle ammo would be a positive change. |

He is right a lot of people have commented on this, one suggestion is to make the ammo regenerating Nanohives a module that have to be installed in order to get unlimited ammo. |

Actually I don't at all care about lore, what I care about is gameplay. If you can think of a reason why vehicles ought to have limitless ammunition but regular weapons don't -- again, not in stupid science fiction terms, in gameplay terms -- I'd be happy to read what you have to say. Personally, I think limited ammunition would be good for gameplay, and "no" doesn't dissuade me from that belief too well. |

Vehicles having limited ammo would be a discouragement to gunners. It's easier to say "vehicles have built-in nanohives than it is to code things AND rationalise things so an infantry-scale nanohive will work for a vehicle.
I think if you had limited, but REPLENISHING ammo (thanks to built-in nanohives, as mentioned), that would work. If you spam a lot of fire, you'll drain the vehicle's reserves, then you'll have to wait before you can spam shots again.
Or a simple reload after a certain number of shots. Infantry still have to reload when standing inside a nanohive's radius, so why not? Just a delay after every X shots, or you can manually reload between fights. |

Personally, I would figure that if we can just run a nanohive off of our backs for infinite reloads, that it makes the most sense for vehicles to have limited ammo counts. I mean, supply depots already rep tanks, so they would just need to re-arm them as well. And the later builds will have the commander able to drop those down where you want them. |
