with CCP loxy now leaving us, can we please have some awesome tools to carry on where loxy left of please.
ingame camera ( digital slr with movie mode), i would like to try my hand at a 360 panorama ( already done the captains quarters in eve x2 and a nebula system). it would let us players push boundrys in streaming live and producing game movie quality images and movies ( recruitment / tourney adds etc etc)
my panoramic images i captured used the very basic camera angles in eve, with some wall gliches to gain a decent FOV (field of view) would it be possible to cater for us imaging nutters and movie makers in dust, give us some tools so we do not need capture devices bleh bleh bleh ?
wold love to be able to become a battlefield photographer/journalist ( in dust) |

Variety of cameras, with different resolutions and functions, purchased with ISK or AUR.
I'm on board. And my girlfriend would probably love it too. She's a photographer (among other things she does for her job). |

yes same here, am a amateur photographer myself, isk / AUR yeah i am cool with the, but ALL the cameras would be purchased with either ISK or AUR. none of this just AUR only purchase.
the isk price could be a wild vairant and the AUR a fixed one.
the main things :
Saving the captured data direct to a HDD and/OR memory stick. PNG/TIFF/JPG, trying to keep lossless to the minimum ( when stacking images from eve, i noticed problems with the conversion to jpg loosing quality.) Zoom must work when recording video footage. multi camera drops ( think matrix style kill shots, battles) maybe a slow mo mode ? (TD from eve in dust ). brightness contrast and hue would be the main reqs for the lighting adjustemt. a simple flash type graphic and the standard Monochrome image selection.
I do not mean camera drones, i mean a real time battlefield recording method. Still images would be a nice first test, then adding in a movie mode function. the camera/s could only be used in replays at first, (with maybe some ingame beta testing later on via devs/players).
i can leave a link to the few images i have taken inside eve, if devs and players interested in this idea would like them.
Room with a view
Captains Quarters panorama
Somewhere In Tranquility
this final shot (tranquility) is made from 13 single images, stacked using astronomy software, aligned and then given post production via G.I.M.P, the post stuff was used to remove a lot of the nebula's (game'ness look) strength to give a more true to life look.
at this time dust has basic viewing, but maybe after beta we could have better camera/movie tools ( think GT5 digital camera, your able to shoot images from trackside with lots of choices ( built in DSLR camera).
What does CCP think about this Idea ? would you let us loose with a camera in hand and not a gun ? would love to hear from CCP Devs / GM'S / design team about this type of sub game function |

Heya CCP its me again that annoying dude Tami. once again i have to say BACK to the TOP.
Eve Video
we need screen capture ability, cameras, angles and dangles filters etc etc. i want to record the battles, make snazzy movies and stream them for all to watch.
I WILL PAY for this to be added via AURUM, yes thats right give me the tools and i would pay for them. i know it is a small handful of players that enjoy imagine capturing and movie making in eve. we should be allowed to do this in dust to, but with tools given by CCP to release our artistic flair.
we want to be hired by dust corps to make recruitment videos, be hired as a battlefield photographer etc etc please i am begging you add some form of camera UI even if its pay2record. so long as that payment is small and gives good bang for buck.
would you point your design/video/ team here please, get some kind of talk going between us in eve/dust , and yourself CCP.

I would actually pay AUR or a large amount of ISK to save battle replays, especially when the corporation battles come out and you want to relive or record footage of the battle your corporation had that day. You can't do that in EVE (instead, in EVE, you have to have a camera guy there, at the battle, and capture as much cool footage as that camera person can get), but I believe it could work with DUST 514 seeing as so many FPS games add the ability to save replays of games you've played.
What I propose is this; maybe purchase a number of these "Battlerecorder Memory Tickets" (If we're thinking lore here, CCP can make up a more lore-fitting name for them like they did with "Universal Voice Transmitter MK28-49dnjetnh". However, to fit in the lore of EVE, I would make it a type of recording which you would relive inside a computer simulation which mocks what happened during the battle).
To use these proposed battle replay tickets you would, before a battle begins, use one of the tickets you purchased to start recording the game for yourself when it starts. As soon as it finishes, the battlerecording is then saved somewhere in your PS3 hard drive (where saved games would be probably) and you view it in DUST 514 through the NEOCOM when not in a game. If you want to back it up, you can save it to a USB drive and put it on your computer. You may then transfer this battlerecording file to other people (e.g. corp mates, allies, friends, anyone) over the internet and they can view it on their PS3 by transferring it again. |
