I don't know how many times i've spawned or been left on a dropship after the pilot bailed...hello firey death.
As an aspiring pilot, i would never abandon my ship when there are passengers or gunners aboard. I would fly away for repairs and shields, instead. And in worse case, would go down with my ship. |

There's a very good possibility that the pilot was just using the dropship to get from point A to point B and didn't care at all for actually piloting it.
One thing that will largely go away when there are costs associated with vehicles. |

This isn't the titanic. If the ship is going down, Leave gracefully like a flower
GM, you know that phrase worked better in this particular situation. |

QFT. If your ship is going down, ie. dead and about-to-be-buried, staying on-board doesn't help your passengers, your team or you.
On the other hand, if I can get away and repair/re-shield I will do so. Dropping out mid-flight if your ship isn't about to explode is a crappy way to treat team-mates.

I dont have comms working, So if I ever bail out of a drop ship its my signal to all of you to get the hell out boat is going down. So pay attention.
As for ground vehicles I have the exact opposite mentality to stay with the tank to the bitter end as I do not want my opponents hijacking my highly valued tank.
However if you ever be a gunner for my tank feel free to bail if it isnt looking good, avenge me! |

Granted, there's a difference between done-for, and limping away. It's too bad once the pilot is gone, the vessel drops from the sky. Many encounters are survivable, if the pilot is aware. But as an Eve spin-off, i know thatt the me-first mentality is going to be strong here.. |

as a passenger in one of those things its always a gamble on your pilot. You never know his skills watch out for that big tower. Seriously happened in a game the pilot said he didn't see it. Lol...
Keep one finger on the bail button, the worst is when you are riding and the side you are looking out is tilted up, you think the pilot may be just making a hard turn but noooo he is doing a swan dive out the other side. |

I actualy am feeling a little guilty atm.
If im just going from A-B (only scrubs walk) I just try to throw the dropship at some distant enemy and skydive out. So if I know I'm gona do this I try not to pick people up but somtimes they manage to get in anyway and ....well maybe I should adjust my battle plan a little in future when they get in. |

I don't actually do this myself, I prefer to use the dropship as a portable turrent @ times but since the militia dropships die quick I haven't had much luck with that. And since most of the time I play I get cursed with the spawn campers from hell I don't invest in anything purchased from the market.
But now that I've been given an idea....

Did you just jump on that dropship or were you invited? No comms? Maybe it's better walk... or call your own... 90% of the times I jumped on one piloted by somebody else the trip didn't have a happy ending... either died on the ship or died after leaving the ship in the wrong spot.... |

Quick taxi = Dropship = Big free bomb I LOVE the kamikaze Dropship! But if you're going to kill your cargo, you better be claiming more victims from the other side. Otherwise, your just hurting your team (and by extension, yourself) |

Once a dropship hit's 0/0, it start listing and goes down even if you hit your repairs.
I generally give warning to bail then yell bail bail bail to make sure all the mic users get out.

I fixed it for you.
...or failing that, there should be a damn loud abandon ship alarm when the dropship loses all armour. Sure, you can see it visually, but most of the time as a gunner you are trying to shoot stuff and can't even see if the pilot bails. And the next thing you know... |

I admit i've used a dropship to get from point to point and bailed when I got to said point. If someone jumps in, I will make the most of it, let them gun and do my best to keep them alive. Usually I use a cheap fit to use it as disposable tax with no CRU. I know i've spawned into a dropship just as it crashes to the ground. So to those that do use it like a disposable taxi, please make a build that has no CRU so people don't spawn into a CRU bomb. |

I dont find it that hard to notice the ship seems to be going down and to bail out. It is funny though sometimes when you see a pilot get a ship and take it full speed to the red line and bail out just to watch everyone get killed.
Oh the griefing. lol |
