CCP has stated that EVE and Dust will be able to interact with each other in Real Time.
But they've also stated that Districts on Planets in Dust will also interact with each other in Real Time, so even if you're one guy on a district of 24 v 24 it could be hundreds on the same planet fighting.
How do you think this will work? |

I think we're going to need a really large player base for things to function correctly. |

It's still unclear. i know i asked questions about this SEVERAL times in my previous interviews with the devs but the same answer came every time "we'll talk about it later".
A lot of question remain unanswered on this matter and stuff connected to planetary conquest and interaction.
I think we'll learn a lot when they'll clearly introduce this "Conquest Mode" they mentionned a bunch of times. I hope we'll be able to synchronize battles on various maps of the same district or even various district on the same planet.
=> That would virtually raise the player cap in an interesting way.
Like say, have one platoon attack the district anti-orbital defense while another one started with a distraction attacking the main and very well defended central hub. Once the orbital cannon is down, get your EVE pals to bombard the main hub and finish the job.
If this anti-orbital cannon was covering various district, you could launch several attack with colleagues from your alliance.
But then, comes the massive question regarding defense mechanism ? What happens when noone is online to protect a district from your corp ?
So here we are. Waiting for answers.
Also => Economics, industry, crafting, transporting materials and troops, war barges in 0.0, etc... ???? |

that is exactly how i see it happening but can they make it work?
@ Petree yup a game like this would need a large playerbase to strive considering the amount of planets and how much ppl u need to defend a simultaneous attack on 1 planet which is why making it F2P was a good move but they still need to make a solid shooter to capture and more importantly RETAIN a large playerbase for the same reasons that Caz mentioned.....what if u got no one on to defend? we know reinforcement timers will be there but how will they work for DUST? |

Exactly without the actual gameplay keeping FPS fans there, there really wont be much for corporations to play with. We'll be a bunch of nomads just taking planets. |

Which brings us back to the problem of not having enough regular builds being released to see new content or game direction.
Damn you Sony and your stupid red tape release cycles! |

Keeping a big player base should be a main objective of this game. I am also worried we might see one corp get very over powered and have most of the player base play for them because they see the corp as easy mode. Those things could really ruin almost all planetary conquest. |

Where's the MMO part in this game? This beta doesn't feel like a traditional MMO of interacting with eachother in a big open world or cities/hubs in that world. So far all I've seen is 2 maps and 2 modes like a traditional shooter. I don't want 'modes' I want a big connected open world/planet to explore for resources and fight for, with city hubs to produce/buy supplies. District to district interaction? That makes me feel like everyone's going to be cut off from eachother. How about being able to move with my squads from one district, fight to take it over and then march directly into the next district and take that over and so on. Give me a 'warp' loading screen if I have to, but at least it would feel like a big connected planet in some way instead of queing up. Because if all it's going to be is people talking to each other in chatroom while they queue up a map/district/mode then this wil be really...really disappointing. |

I don't know man, I think this is supposed to a direct representation of the final game. Don't those opaque words at the top of the screen say "Final Game - Work Finished"?

But then I remembered that sarcasm is a myth and everyone on the internet always tells the truth.
I'm so glad the game is out already, and that we're playing something that's complete, but feels unfinished. |

I might actually have to post a bug report, or talk about the game on the forums! D: But I can just shout obscenities at my TV, now that I'm sure this is the final product. |
