I've been flying dropships a lot lately so I decided to invest in them. Bought a Grimsnes and I love it. It's a little bulkier than the Viper, but it can take a beating. I'm still deciding on my dropship fitting, piecing it together as I go. Below is my fitting. Interested to get anyone's input on it. Just trying to learn as I go. Thanks!

It's a good fit, and loads of fun - your best improvement is going to be upgrading the missiles to ST at the least, which will free up some grid for more armor reppers etc.
Not sure about the Nano-fibre structure on that one either - the grimsnes Armor tanks, and nano-fibre reduces armor.
That's actually the main reason I went the Caldari Route, shields don't weigh anything, so I can up the tank without sacrificing speed. |

Thanks for the input. Ya, missiles were the next upgrade I was going for. I put the Nanofiber Structure I in there because I didn't really have anything else to put in that slot that wouldn't push me over.
Initially when I was leveling up, I went with the Viper. I assumed that the Grimsnes was the equivalent because it has the lower armor than the other ship at that level. Maybe I missed something. It's a lot slower than the Viper. |

you might want to fit some of the armour resistance mods. from memory i have
damage control, militia cru
2 energised plates (25% ones cant remember their name) nano fibre extra armour (i get about 2k armour hp) repper (121/pulse)
missile turrets (non militia)
ship can take some punishment and continue to give support (must have about 50% resistance). That said its costly and every one has a forge gun these days. my Gorgon fit is similar, but with cheaper gear.
tried rails, gunners got zero kills and bailed pretty quick. Blasters too short range and gunners struggle to hit. Its the splash damage that makes the missiles effective. |
