So the black beam is hard to see for friends and foe. Which is nice that we don't have a beam that makes us stick out but the bad is it's hard to see what we are repairing.
As a support it be really handy if the HUD did like a targeting lock on box on targets we are repairing. Kinda like when we repair friendlies in Eve. This would be even more handy when using the higher end tools that repair more then one target at a time.. |

HUD marker on target being repaired is a GREAT idea.
I also (still) want to see indicators like the ones for damage, but in green or blue - both for the person healing AND for their target.
But I like the black effect - at first I was a bit iffy, but it's growing on me - particularly because it doesn't make you very obvious. |

I have to agree that the black beam effect is a little too subtle. When you are standing in front of a black missile turret you can't see the beam at all. If it wasn't for the occasional 'repair +25' text pop up, you wouldn't have a clue if the tool is actually doing anything or you're just wasting your time.
The first time It tried to repair a missile turret, I didn't wait long enough for the 'repair +25' to appear, so I thought repairing turrets simply doesn't work and went on. Then some other time I saw someone else doing it, so I tried it again myself, randomly pressing, holding and releasing the trigger until I noticed the text pop ups and that the health bar of the turret was going up very, very slowly. And then, even later, I noticed that black beam coming out of the repair tool of someone else who was actually repairing me. So now I know how to tell if you're repairing something or not, but it really isn't that obvious. |

Being a less obvious visual cue is a GOOD thing though - you aren't as much of a target to the other team that way. |

Yeah the more I use it the more I like the black smoke. Helps to keep my squishy ass alive as it takes people a few seconds to figure out that the reason I keep dodging behind my heavy teammate is because I'm repping him (ok AND using him as my personal shield).
What I would like is a bit better indicator on my screen that it's actually engaged and running. There's just enough of a delay that I sometimes disengage to re-target only to realize that yes it was working. |

That's what I am talking about some kind os displany on our UI showing we are repairing a target like a white box around them on just our screen.
Last thing I would want is for like a neon light beam coming from the repair tool that shows every sniper on the map what I am doing . |

Said it before, and I'll say it again (and sorry to whoever I'm stealing the idea from, I forgot who said it first)...
Blue or green versions of the "damage" indicators - both when healing with a flashing mark on the crosshairs, AND when being healed with the directional indicators showing where the healing is being done from so you can tell who to thank/save. |

It's just so hard for the repairer to see the black beam I think the white box around the target would be cool just for the fact it would match the targeting of the Eve Logistics ships.
Also the high end repair tools lock on to more then one target so the problem becomes even more of an issue. |

+1 Blacknova
If the black coloration really is to make it less noticable to the enemy, maybe they should take it a step further and just make it a faint gray mist(like a little cloud of nanites? is that what the beam is supposed to represent?) and just have all the repair stuff appear on the individual player HUD, as others have said.
As it is the black beam is not a positive/beneficial looking visual cue at all. It would probably just confuse/freak out new players; I know it did for me. |

This would be even more handy when using the higher end tools that repair more then one target at a time.. I'm all for this one. The lockon radius is obviously much larger than that tiny icon on-screen, but its near impossible to actually tell how close is close enough as far as putting it on your target. I would figure that putting a box on the screen similar to the SL to show where you need to have the player to turn on the repper would be a good addition. |

It's subtle, but it's still visible enough if you're looking for it. |
