I'm sure I'll get posts from a bunch of 12 year old CoD players here that don't understand how people could have fun with anything outside the battle maps in DUST, and that's fine for them. But I'd like to get an idea of the other people who plan to take advantage of the social aspects of DUST and roleplay a bit.
And get an idea of how much/little roleplay DUST has right now.
I'll be roleplaying personally, with an RP corp Eos Landforce Security (a counterpart to EVE's RP Eos Corporation).
Any other roleplayers and roleplay corps out there? |

The social aspect of DUST will be used greatly by ZionTCD for a number of purposes. After our meeting today, I'll be able to speak more on this.
I would like to hear more about the Roleplaying aspect and how ELS runs if I may? |

A lot of it will have to wait to see how exactly the social aspects pan out in DUST.
In space, Eos is a corporation through and through. Out to make money, build things, and claim a little operating space (have to give the space security something to do, right?), the DUST corp would play as part of the Eos corporation, specifically the planetside security.
Some of the things we do hope for, are "IC tactical comms" granted a lot of people will do this, but it really helps immerse yourself in the battlefield. Also, we'd like to have social RP events as well, from meetings and strategy boards, to fighting tournaments and training. If we're allowed on our planets when they're not being fought over (and even not, we'll find a way to make it work) we'll probably have some competitive racing, all in character.
Ofcourse, with DUST being beta and a lot of the social parts not in yet, we're still waiting on how to do a lot of the stuff, and what we can do with it. |

Well currently most of you are already roleplaying without realizing it. Which is one great aspect of eve online, also at least our role players are not as lame as other mmos. Our top choices are rebels without a clue, rebels with a clue, sabatours, spies, cultist, terrorist, shadow brokers, market tycoons, milita, security, pirate, mercenary, mad scientist list goes on. You can easily fit any of these shoes on and very few would acutally question if you are role playing or you are just simply playing the game in a way you like. |

If you want to see a perfect example of role playing while also having an impact on the game, take a look at The Mittani.
http://www.tentonhammer.com/features/mittani/
This is someone who took role playing to so many new levels that it is said that he "Won Eve" before even logging in to the game.
Then there is Helicity Boson:

Then there is James315 and his famous anti-miner manifestos.

This exactly, Eos' last war ended up with them involuntarily RPing with us. |

Makes me wonder if we'll get social clothing and customizatable faces like EVE.
People were helmetless in the early trailers, right? |
