combat would be more interesting if there were jet packs it would make it more of a challenge and better sniper positions and it would be nice to see a one man vehicle for scouts only like if you make a capture the flag map they can race towards the flag on there bike get off the bike grab the flag get back on the bike and race towards there base |

It would be a great idea. If I could lock on to the jetpacker with my swarm launcher. The thought of the look on that poor snipers face when he sees 6 swarm rockets about to hit his face..

I support jetpacks:
Jepacks could be equiped on equipment slots, and guns cannot be used while jetpack is active. Jetpacks would be considerably useful for logistics suits, especially for flying past enemies to plant drop uplinks for his team to spawn, or flying to downed players to revive. Jetpacks shouldn't be too fast so others can still shoot them effectively as they shoot running players; this will keep them for being abused as quick escapes. Jetpacks should have very high PG or CPU fitting costs to keep people from overusing them.
EDIT: I don't think jetpacks should have nearly so much climb that it would let someone get to the top of the towers. |

Only an amarr would say something that stupid. Lol on a honest note you basically want to over power snipers and encourage 1 manning a team game |

As it is, on the skirmish map, I find that snipers climb up either to the top of the towers or hang around the bottom (on top of the cliffs near them) and snipe from there. I often don't know there's a sniper up there until I'm dead, but after that I try to avoid them.
Point is that there are very good locations for a sniper rifle already. If you get to the top of the tower, you can drop down and land on a ledge halfway down. That gives an amazing FOV, and snipers who get up there have a whale of a time. |

IF there should be jetpacks they would need to go into an equipment slot and have quite some PG and mediocre CPU requirements. And they should have quite an increase on the profile of the user when passive and should be able to locked on.
On the other hand it should work by simply holding down X and run down a regenerating timer.
BTW I wouldn't call it a jetpack but Antigrav-Unit that is an addition to the suits inertia dampener (parachute) |

The only time I would support jetpacks being in the game is if they replaced your primary weapon and that they were only for scouts.Everyone using jetpacks would hurt the gameplay way too much. |

I'd be ok with jetpacks if they had a long cooldown and limited use time, as well as heavy power/cpu requirements and their performance was heavily influenced by what suit you used. No fattys flying up to towers. I know this is easily OP, but if it had a really long cooldown and you had to give up a lot to use it, it could work out. Basically no extra shields or stuff, just a gun and a jet pack. And 1M+ to train for it. |

I agree you shouldn't be able to use them while holding a gun, but it seems excessive to limit them to only one suit. High PG/CPU cost and the threat of swarm launchers would be enough to keep it from getting out of hand. If it had to be 1 suit only, it would have to be logistics. |

propably a special Jetpack Operation Skill, Jetpack Thruster Configuration (more thrust), Jetpack Optimization Skill (faster cooldown). |

i dont like the idea of jetpacks to easy to abuse, however if it is added it shouldnt be limited by dropsuit, a cornor stone of eve fitting is being able to fit any ship however you like and i think that should be carried over to dust. the limit to waht your dropsuit could do should only be limited by how far your willing to fit it. |

I remember hearing something about jetpacks already existing in the EVE universe as a means of travelling in gas planets.
Personaly I would like some kind of one man flying vehicle or jetpack. It adds extra verticality to the game and really would be useful for Logistics/Scouts to play with.
Maybe have it so that weight plays a big part in there effectiveness, so players carrying a lot of heavy equipment can barely fly, people that travel light can get much more lift out of them.
I don't understand people complaining about snipers on the towers as it seems a completely logical thing to do. The whole point of a sniper is to try and find the safest spot with the best view.
It isn't too hard to figure out where they are and all you need to do is get a sniper or hop in a dropship with a turret to easily take them out.
The big benefit of jetpacks is that you wont have snipers calling in dropships purely to fly themselves on top of the towers, which is the main way people are doing it right now. Dropship pilots are rarely responsive enough to ask for a lift anywhere right now. |

Snipers and AV in scout suits would be perfect logical use for this sort of thing. To get up on some overwatch type areas and keep the area free of enemies.
I don't recall one time in movies or RL where snipers are on the sidewalks. And they shouldn't need to clog up the skies with disposable dropships to do so.
Yes, they could get a dropship pilot to do this, and when there are corp groups, it could be done, but I'd want my snipers to be self sufficient.
I'd rather them have a jetpack than heavy shields or armor.
If they want nanos, grenades, extra shields and a built in drink dispenser, then have a dropship give them a ride.
Logistics support in type 2 scout suits would also be good. |

Players should be less self sufficient and more corp reliant. I say force cooperatio, players should fill roles on the battle field not one man armys |

I totally agree on teamwork. I do, however, think that people should be equipped with the things that best enable them to do their job. Jetpacks should never replace vehicles, simply add short term altitude mobility.
Tribes style jetpacks would not be good for Dust, I agree. Short-duration versions that require training and are affected by your mass and such could be workable, and a good thing imo, if properly implemented, and costly in skill, pg/cpu and isk. |

Um... no. I can imagine some dude being pwned by an assault rifle and then decides to jetpack his way out. Bad enough we have people whining about imaginary bunny hops. I don't want to see jetpacks even if they benefited me. |
