Seem to me this game could use a little more spice so what beter way to bust open the gameplay and make ccp more $$ then Dropsuit powers? Think about it The powers could be as subtle as a 10 sec speed boost for scouts or as extravagant as a jetpack or personal support drone They would have to add powers to the suit they already made like 10 sec damage boost for assualt or idk; whatever they want; but that shouldnt be a problem since the powers could be minor to the point of uselessness the real beauty of this idea is that it enables ccp to Sell Character classes to us in a way that actually makes me want to buy any and all future dlc just to be able to play around with all the cool new and now totallly unique dropsuits
This is a pretty standard model for free to play dota type games and i think it would be perfect for dust let me know what you think or post up what type of dropsuit/power combinations you'd like to see; here are my ideas:
Scout : Either a speed burst or Thermal scan Assualt : Convert sheild energy to exrta weapon damage Heavy : Self destruct sequence Logistics : Wifi/wireless hacking (from a distance) Pilot : anti-swarmer flares Command : call for backup (force spawn a teammate on your location) Shock : Jetpack Stealth : active camo (duh) and maybe a sword Utility : Grapple hook Surveillance : Motion detector or/and Landmines
and thats just off the top of my head CCP i would gladly pay $5 for a reusable millitia version of any of those dropsuits so pleeeeeeease pleeease pleeease ccp EXPLOIT ME! lol

Ew.
Just... ew. No.
Even without the atrocious spelling, this would have been painful to read. I HOPE this was a joke, but even then, it's in bad taste. |

Sorry... I should have said "spelling AND grammar" not just spelling.
But that wasn't the point. The point is that the idea itself is pay-to-win, and totally against the concept of a PROPER free-to-play game. And the fact that it violates the modular nature of everything that's previously been done in New Eden, and that's being carried over from EVE into DUST.
Your abuse of language isn't the reason the idea was terrible, and I'm surprised that you actually think it's a good thing. So, as I already said... Ew, NO.
Also, you missed "assault" with your spellcheck. |

yea i dont get the whole "Pay to Win" Argument for alot of reasons 1) Altho its a Free to Play game, CCP Has to make money somehow or else there would be no dust; Complaints against any sort of advantage for the people who CONTRIBUTED MONEY TO THE GAME (and therefor its success) are unreasonable if you ask me. At the very least they are being ungratefull. You Didnt Even Pay for the freaking game, WHY are you complaining? (not you in particular; hopefuly you get my meaning) 2) They could still set it up the way they have it now - You can earn anything you want in-game but if you wanna CONTRIBUTE to the people who gave you this awsome free free free free free FREE to play game you can spend pennies on the dollar for access to those items a little bit sooner
Pay to Win is gross Freeloading is grosser
oh and words/grammar are just that; ill flop flip any word or saying i wanna on the interwebs so get over it |

oh and words/grammar are just that; ill flop flip any word or saying i wanna on the interwebs so get over it As someone who already bought the Merc Pack, I've gone on record saying that most of the Aurum gear is fine, because it isn't objectively or insurmountably better than what you can buy with ISK. MOST of it is purely "early access" so it's basically a way to shortcut the grind, there are only a few items that circumvent that.
Also, the devs have openly stated they DON'T want the game to be pay-to-win.
I have supported them, and in time I'll probably continue to do so, but I WON'T keep supporting them if there are real advantages to be bought which can't be picked up using ISK. That's not what was promised, that's not what I'm after.
Freeloading is gross. Pay to win is grosser. You're wrong.
I'm hoping they include a decent stack of AUR gear that's PURELY cosmetic - as in does NOTHING but make you look different and awesome.
And the spelling/grammar thing wasn't to be taken seriously, but thanks for making me laugh about it some more by bringing it up again. |

I'm not sure why you would suggest this as a P2W option, on a game that is clearly made to be a balanced F2P game. When the Devs said "We don't want this to be pay to win", did you think they were just kidding? Everything that Dust is, relies on the experience being free and balanced. This, would make it not free, and not balanced. Giving an significant advantage to those who pay ruins the entire point of a free game, because how can you win or even have fun if you don't have even a slight hope of victory without paying? You might as well just make the game a B2P. |
