Gah my Eve continuity sense is tingling. Why are missile launchers rockets? I want missiles to lock and seek with slow RoF- rockets unguided- High RoF. Why the inconsistency? Not necessarily saying change mechanic to lock-on, just if you don't, change name to rocket... Please? |

Ahem small correction for eve terms.
In eve rockets are partial guided but lack 'Smart warheads' to make it detonate at best solution against defense layers, thus no programming and more room for the payload.
Missiles are fully guided but requires lockons so the missile can id the target, figure out the best way to explode on the target and calcualtive how best to use its limited yield. It makes up for this by having much more range for fuel.
Just think of it this way... our tech is smart enough to allow some nicenessicties in our equipment, rockets may have gotten smarter but they're still leagues stupider than a missile and shall remain so.
None the less I have to aggree missiles need some tracking ability and maybe a smaller explosion radius.
Just like Torpedos used to float in the middile of the waterways blocking them and blowing up when they are contacted with... To the famours words of Ferrugt, "Damn the torpedeos! Full Speed Ahead!" these where the torpedoes he was referring to.
Also Magazines instead of clips please? Charges instead of rounds as charges are more 'universal'. |

Thought eve rockets were only "guided" lore-wise by virtue of launcher tracking the target and firing at a solution that equated to rocket impacting enemy. Hrrm.
Either way- I think the idea for limited lock-on for suits/vehicles (maybe only lock-on while zoomed for another layer of difficulty....) and smaller explosion radius/dmg- for an additional missile module. I don't think we should get rid of these modules- just add true missiles. |

Would it be OP to lock on small missiles to suits- with limited blast radius/missile turn speed. |

Look reduce the ROF by requiring missiles to lock before firing reduce explosion radius and slightly increase direct hit damage
Add a new turret a rocket launcher which functions currenlty as is but with lesser direct hit damage and reduce its range. |

They could make a Missile turret that basically works like Swarm Launchers, with lock on for vehicles only. You could hold L1 to mark and lock a target, then once locked, the missiles will track the locked target. If it gets far enough from your reticule, you lose the lock. If you don't lock on, you can blind-fire them with no guidance, but the slow travel speed means they wouldn't be very effective against an alert enemy.
Then rename the current missile turrets "Rocket" instead. |

Exactly :
Missile = slow projectile- decent guidance- mostly direct damage with limited splash radius. Rocket = fast projectile- no guidance- moderate to high direct damage + decent splash radius |

So any crowd impetus behind naming change/ turret type expansion- either or both? |

I'd be happy with a standard RPG and/or Javelin Missile. At least they can be fired from cover, rather than swarm launchers that fire out to the sides unnecessarily hitting walls. |

So really we have 3 possible turret paths - I vote for all. Guided missiles, rockets (current turret), and an (essentially) wire-guided AV variant. |

Could also have painted targets for guided missiles. IE scout paints with TP- then the missile is locked- scout loses paint, lose lock. |
