The heavy suit is the slow hulking tank of dropsuits and due to this is extremely susceptible to explosives of any kind which still tend to be one shot one kill or at most a follow up volley of assault rounds.
I think that the heavy suit should naturally be more resistant to large blasts such as tank shots and explosive charges, seeing its main job is to be your hulking anti tank/crowd control suit. I feel this will further help it fulfill its role yet stay balanced since scouts etc can still dance around it taking potshots like they already do.
Not only this but it definitely feels like (as mentioned in another thread) it should have another slot (maybe 2?) added to it or maybe for the heavy weapon as mentioned replacing the sidearm or adding a second armor slot. |

I can agree with you on this. As a heavy character should be just strapped to the teeth with equipment or large sum of ammo |

I might be biased on this since I play a heavy, but there are some serious (well not serious serious but still) issues about the heavy, it dies in a second in explosives and it's not nimble enough to dodge any of them.
Heavy suit needs a additional armor slot or a equipment slot on it and losing the sidearm to either one of those. Now when I see a HAV (LAV's are easily destroyed with the HMG) or a dropship I know I will be dead in a second if that thing spots me. |

Remote explosives are going to be rebalanced next build, so hopefully there won't be any need to worry about scouts blowing you up without any trouble as a heavy in the future.
Anyway, the heavy's armor is pretty massive and I think that in itself is probably enough of a perk. The low speed does suck, but once you get out of the militia heavy suit and get a decent repairer, it begins to shine a bit more. |

So far the massive armor still means nothing to single grenade and follow up burst, I have non militia armor and it's still like Oh its a scout hes dead because there's distance! *grenade* nevermind... |
