I have made some improvements on my assault build with new weapons and new equipment, but so far I don't see much improvement with my k/d ratio. I have more deaths than kills. Every match in this game, I manage to get only 3 kills maybe 4 kills. Not much. In other games, like battlefield or call of duty, I have higher kills than deaths. So what do I need to do to improve my character to help me increase my kills to get a better k/d ratio. Any suggestions? |

Don't let your kdr bother you until you reach about 100 kills/deaths. It'll take time to adapt to the mechanics and feel of the weapons, so give it some time and your KDR will start improving.
Also, if you play skirmish, getting objectives is much more important than KDR. |

You don't have to scope in as much as other modern shooters, hipfiring is better at close ranges. |

But I'm not sure that counts.
Also, the game doesn't track Assists. Have you been checking them? You'll usually find they rise before K/D does. |

Also I seems that sometimes I am able to shoot at the enemy and be able to damage them, but I not able to kill them. It would seem they have better armor or better weapons and end up killing me before I kill them. Even when I hipfire them I am not able to kill them. What would be the recommended skills that would be good to use for an assault build and what weapons would be good to use? I know I use an assault rifle and submachine gun. The rifle is at lvl 5 and the machine gun is at lvl 4. I can not upgrade the armor yet, since the armor is at lvl 2, or even add the upgrade rfile for lvl 5 to my dropsuit. Here is the skills and items I have for my character.
Grenadier lvl 1 Assault dropsuit lvl2 Dropsuit command lvl 1
Electronic lvl 3 Nanocurcuity lvl 1
engineering lvl 2 shield operation lvl 3
light weapon capacity lvl 1 light weapon sharpshooter lvl 3 Light weapon upgrade lvl 2
sidearm capacity lvl 2 sidearm sharpshooter lvl 3 sidearm upgrade lvl 2
Assault rilfe operation lvl 5 Assault rile profiency lvl 1 pistol operation lvl 1 submachine gun operation lvl 4 weaponary lvl 2
Armor upgrade lvl 1 mechanics lvl 1
Some of these were standard and some of them were ones I bought and started to add points to. Do you think this is too much? Any suggestions on which ones I would need to not use or ones I would need to use. I would think the sharpshooter would be one to use?

Ok, inseeing your fitting, one thing skill wise, is u shouldnt have put stuff into sidearm if u have both ar and smgs (my opinion at least).
For fittings, run shield extender x2, and armor repairer x2. ... weapons are your choice really
Also, but skills into shield/armor and cpu increased |

In CCP games, dual tanking is not your friend. Pick speed mods with shields, or armor mods with damage mods. The logic is that shields will replinish but are weaker in the game, so you need speed to keep you from getting direct fire. With armor, you can take the hit better, but since you move slower you need a higher damage output.
For my basic assult, I have 2 x light weapon damage mods, plus armor plates and armor rep. You can use the remote armor rep tool as your equipment and put 2 x armor plates on if you want - that will give you more tank but you have to remember to repair the damage instead of it happening naturally. |

Sorry for posting again, but I was just looking through your loadout. I don't have any light or sidearm weapon upgrade skills, but I do have SP in forge and swarm launchers. Just for some AV capability.
I have two militia shield extenders on my T1 assault dropsuit, one armor repairer, a drop uplink, SMG, AV grenades, and a GEK AR. I don't use armor plates on my assault as it slows me down, and that's very important for both assault and scout suits. Not so much for a heavy suit. |

Get your core skills (electronics, mech, engi ) maxed. They are cheap to level and add so many options for you . Even if you are shield tanked that extra armor from mech can be a life saver . |

I have looked through all the reply and made notes on what to do when I create a new character. Thank you for your help. Also does anyone know if when this game is officially released will they add a sell item feature. I know there are some items that I do not use and I can re-sell them for some extra isk. if they add the feature. |

I would think that the sidearm would be one that I would need to add some points to since smgs are considered sidearm weapons. So you think that I should not put any points to any of the sidearm skills and focus on ar skills and just put points to the submachine gun operation if I want to use smgs. |

Weaponry to V Engineering to V Electronics to V Mechanics to V Shield Operations to V
with those you shouldnt die as much as you get hp buff and enough grid and cpu to fit some survivability modules. Also on a final note, dont stand still I cannot recall how many people I gave a new chest cavity with a forge gun with because they stood perfectly still. |

The above though are the core skills for basically anyone no matter what they are doing. |
