I think it would be useful if you could out fit your drop suit with a scanner that could read enemy drop suits and tell you their load-out. Maybe have it be like a sidearm. It could also work on vehicles. |

You can simply see what dropsuit they have and what weapon they are using by looking at them, trying to scan them with some kind of scanner that would have to then bring up some kind of fitting screen to show you what they have fitted would take too much time, by the time you scan him and check out his loadout he will have left, or one or both of you will have died. On top of that, knowing what modules someone has fitted isn't particularly useful anyways, at least not with the modules we have now. In addition, to use this scanner, you would have to fit it to your dropsuit, where it would take the place of something that would help you kill that person. Against vehicles, it MIGHT work but even then I'm not sure how it would be useful. However, I suppose it might be useful when they add EWAR to the game. Nice idea, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't work. If someone else has an idea about how it might work I would certainly like to hear it.
EDIT: Actually, some kind of passive module that brings up information above an enemies head automatically might work. |

This is something that could work if it were buffed a bit. Scout like characters In Mass Effect 3 have an ability that allows a target to be seen by the whole team, slows it down and weakens it.
Obviously we wouldn't use those specs.
We could have tracer rounds - either a sidearm designed for this feature or a special type of ammo - to shoot on targets. A marker (The same marker used for squad commands) would stay on the target displaying:
Weapons type: AR, H, S, SMG Armor grade: Square for basic, Triangle for Advanced and Star for prototype Shield remaining: Display as a bar Armor remaining: Displayed as a bar.
The weapon would have something like 3 rounds in a clip and 15 bullets in reserve. Were it a sniper rifle it'd be even cooler.

If it gave you a quick read out of something simply stating threat level and the higher the threat level the more likely you are to loose to that person. |

As a Support I really don't want a item that puts an icon or anything near me telling the team what I am. I rather have teams use scouts as spotters and tell the other team. |

I seem to remember during an interview a CCP guy saying that eventually they wanted skills/gear to allow for scanning that could reveal load-outs on the scan target. Either way it seems like a decent addition to the scout/sniper repertoire. |
