Good and bad.
Good, you can then test all the maxed skills.
Bad, you skip all the lower level skills and thus they dont get tested. Plus, l really believe you learn more on what works and doesnt by building up from scratch. |

Far better plan. Test the balance. Delete all chars who lose most games. You guys get to start on new chars. Char who won majority of their games get max SP. Remove all gear except militia for that weekend (market things are easy for CCP to do).
Now we get to see if SP is OP. Win |

Do they have a win/loss stat....or will they? |

It may not be in the game, but I'm sure it'll be a stat the DEVs have access too. I'd love to see how many of those in "newb mode" stop playing. I think CCP could do with this sorta info, although they probably already did this internally. *better make the winning majority lose their chars, I'd you lost when you had SP ect, your screwed with none.* |

Handicap the players can't play the game well & buff the players who do play the game well. Because we totally don't know how that will end.
I've got a character who hasn't spent any of his SP on anything, who only plays in militia gear, and I play a significant portion of my matches on him. Do you?
Also, they've announced that Highsec matches will involve a matchmaking system to address SP imbalance -- so the entire point of your post is moot. |

this is beta, i would flip that. people who have impressive KDR's get reset to milita, those who have impressively bad KDR's get full SP, see how well high skill, no SP stands up against no skill high SP |

Well I heard CCP has it planned that it should take the average Duster about seven years to finish skilling completly. Whether or not this is true I have no official source. Just a trickle down from the grape vine. Also I'd suspect they'd add more, and more skills over time through expansions, and whatever have you.
As for whether or not skill points are a determining factor -- I'd it's a factor, but not the grant all. In the end it's a multitude of factors mainly based off of whom you are as a player behind the controller and are playing in a way that best suits your skills. Not everyone of us is a fighter. Some like to operate and fly vehicles. Others may be pacifist and be more inclined to be a support player in which they apply their specific skills where needed. Medical needs, hacking, sabotage, or whatever the case may be. You also have supplies, and equipment as another factor, team support and how well they function within the unit and operate on the battlefield. Skills will only help enhance how you choose to play. |

Now we get to see if SP is OP. Win How would this test anything, exactly?
Good players will already win the majority of the time against Bad players, and giving them the SP edge won't test anything about SP being OP.
Ideally for the test you would give the worst players max SP, or even better all players SP and see if the ratios are the same for wins/losses and how far the new numbers deviate from the old. |

I did mention in the above post I had it the wrong way around. And no I don't have a char with nothing. I did that during the last weekend of last build. Big change to my scores. Went from going roughly 18-6 down to like 5-5. SP makes a massive difference. Can I ask how much sp your main character has? The one who IS spending it. I tested it from 6.5mil down to 300k |

If you have more than 7,000,000 million in SP and you're not feeling like your dominating people around you.
There may be an issue with your playstyle |
