Where are DUST now if you compare the vehicles to EVE ships, in terms of respective size and function.
I'd say the light infantry would be best compared to Frigates, with the heavy being Destroyers.
LAV's would them be the Cruiser class, Drop ships the Battle Cruisers and tanks the Battle ships.
The MCC seems to be fitting the small carrier class, even if it 's only 1/10th the size of an EVE carrier.
Then there will be numerous sub classes within those.
Let the disagreements be heard :) |

I disagree to this whole thread.
I don't think there should be any direct correlation between Dust classes and EVE classes. |

Dust has it's own set up. It's already in place, so why add on to it? |

I think this type of comparison will do more to cripple new thoughts than it would help in any field. |

don't think of it as classes, think of it more as roles, ccp have stated they are going to make dust versions of what the ship roles are |

Good, I want tackle.
For people not familiar. A fast, possibly unarmed frigate, that stops/slows the others movement. A role that can be done with few skill points, but still useful to groups with tens of millions of sp. Great for new players to contribute while still learning game.
Someone slowing down a Sagaris so I can keep firing adv. swarm at them would be great. |

This is pretty much my job when I'm running my "Free AV" build.
I'm not technically unarmed in that build, but I'm carrying a Militia Swarm Launcher, so against a decently-fitted Sagaris or Surya, I may as well be.
I don't technically stop them moving, but I'm VERY good at controlling WHERE and HOW the target moves against most tanks. |
