Such a small amount that you might as well just quit for a few years if you want to earn some skillpoints. Just sayin. |

You are always earning passive SP, even during matches. You gain at a rate of about 1 SP every 3.5 seconds, or 20k or so a day. The counter is currently bugged, but when it is working normally you will see your skillpoint amount slowly rising while you watch your character sheet.
The display is currently bugged, but you are still gaining the SP right now. |

The other 2 characters I made on this account are over 1 million sp now. It's been 28 days I think. |

I can barely get 500,000 sp unless ccp does a special thing where you get 1,000,000 SP so how do you passively skill one skill? |

If I understand the system correctly, the passive sp gain goes to your unallocated skillpoints. It doesn't go into any skill directly. |

The way it worked in the previous build, and I presume the way it will work in future, is that you just constantly earn SP for as long as you have an account at the rate of around 1 SP every 2-3 seconds. |

Just don't stare at it too long, you'll go blind. |

Its a great way to keep progressing when you go play the latest CoD, Halo or some other massive AAA game that requires you to stop breathing eating and drinking anything but that. Or when you get burnt out on dust 514. |

I actually just tested this out this weekend (we were somehow debating if it was still turned on). Logged in and didn't do anything for 3 hrs, 35 minutes (215 minutes) it averaged out to 16 SP / min or approx 4 SP every 15 seconds which is approx 23,000 SP /day.
And don't stare at it. So long as you are logged in, there is a visual bug that it doesn't update until you restart the game. |

the passive gain of skill points goes to unallocated points pool. it isn't anything like eve's set up where you sign up a skill to queue and it constantly upgrades til finishes or you change it. frankly dust has it better in the fact that you don't stop gaining if you don't have a skill in queue.but all in all the sp gain is so small right now that it isn't worth much unless you aren't playing for quite a long time. |
