It's silly at the moment, but we should (statement of my opinion, not speculation of what we'll get) get the passengers being able to fire their main weapons out of the door, that's just common sense (and might actually let us see WTF is going on around the ship; as it stands, trying to make a tactical drop is all but impossible since you can't see your surroundings and the lack of teaming or use of voice comms).

After spending a lot of time today playing gunner (and passenger) in Dropships and Tanks, I think I need to apologise. You're right, I was wrong. And I've got to the point where I can, to an extent, use the minimap and my limited view of the battlefield from the Dropship to mostly figure out the right time to jump. Agreed that better visibility and preferably the option of shooting would be nice though.

EVERY gunner contributes to a vehicle's battlefield presence, and to the effect it has on enemy behaviour. More gunners mean more firepower, which in turn makes your vehicle both a higher-priority target and a more dangerous threat.

You covered the rear approach and made sure nobody came from that direction. Had you walked off, someone could easily have shown up with forge guns from the unprotected direction. Because of your presence, any enemies who MIGHT have tried would have been chased off. Do you know that your "friend" parked reversed specifically to avoid you getting kills, or is it possible they were using you to form a rearguard just in case someone on the opposing team found a way around?
