Having been both a user of spawn trapping and a victim I can say that in Dust 514 it is quite the problem. Should you be in Plateaus and all objectives have been captured by the other team your are limited in your spawning. So much so that the opposing team can wait for you to respawn in that area and then kill you. This becomes infinitely easier due to the vehicles. This should be resolved somehow. I myself have no suggestions so far. But, maybe someone else does. |

Use drop uplinks early and often. I am surprised how rarely I see uplinks that are not mine on the field. |

Personally, I find the uplinks cost too much from my fit... and its a heavy suit, so no equipment anyway... But still, creating a new spawn is nice, but the normal spawns being borked should still be addressed, even when they fix the random spawn glitch, and my personal favorite is 'everyone spawns via initial dampner from skybox'
May need to add some damage resistance to the dampner field, but hey, lets hear some other ideas. |

What if around the objective there is a radius that you would be able to select a location within on where to land (DROPsuit, get it?) and what direction you face when landing, this would eliminate spawn trapping to a huge extent and would more nessecitate a team for capturing locations since you don't know from what direction they will spawn from, and would only lengthen the spawn time by a little bit. |

If a team (mine or the opponent) is doing so poorly as to be redlined...well, they deserve what they get. Spawn locations are going to be a bit more random, once they figure out what the problem is, and they have stated that static spawns are actually a bug, that spawns are already supposed to be semirandom within a given area. But even if spawns are quite random, and even if they find a way to fix the issue of spawning in before you can actually see (sometimes for several seconds), then a redlined team without drop uplinks placed somewhere safe are still hosed. You have the entire team with vehicles, sniper rifles, and whatever other nastiness they can come up with concentrating fire on a small area, and to even be in that position, you have already been dominated by the attacking team. The team that has so completely won the battle has no obligation to give you a fair chance to get back into it. |

I suppose you are right in a sense however being forced to respawn in that same area seems very unrealistic. Since they are dropsuits and you are dropping out of aircraft wouldn't you be able to drop anywhere? I'm not saying we should be allowed to drop anywhere just a larger area.

If you spawn you have to be invulnerable in the first 3 - 5 secs. So that good player have a chance to strike back. |
