Remote explosives are really handy when you are trying to hold down an objective on your own or with limited personnel. But there should really be an option to detonate the explosive while I have weapon in hand. Trying to swap back and forth is bit cumbersome and often times results in you not engaging the explosive in time or being caught with your !@#$ in the breeze with no weapon in hand.
The option to double tap some button to detonate the explosive is pretty standard in most shooters and would be helpful for us defenders :) |

No thanks, remote explosives are already being spammed in gun fight for one hit kills; yesterday for example, half the time I was engaged in a gunfight on Ambush communications, someone just threw some remote explosives on the ground and boom. These things are already being exploited in ways they weren't meant to be, making things easier to use doesn't seem smart to me. |

i agree! Remote should not be so easy and quicck to deploy that they can be used as a replacement for weak grenades.

instead of nerfing them I hope CCP will create counters. This would make things more interesting....maybe EM pulse or some sort of anti-RE equipment that would lock out all targeting in HUD, and disables the frequency that the RE uses to trigger the detonation command.
You could get more intricate by having different RE's for different frequency jammers. Bypass jammer skill , etc. Just make the hole so deep with RE's that people get lost trying to figure out how to blow **** up the best -- and give players who don't want to use them, the option of protecting ourselves from it, with technology that is pretty hard to imagine NOT existing, considering the 'universe' our characters 'live' in.
another thing to consider I guess before ranting too hard is we only have two maps right now. I rarely died to a remote explosive until the communication map opened.
Maybe next patch, larger content and people will get tired of being cheap with RE's...

RE are awesome
they need to be advanced prereq though for the strenght we have right now. lvl 1 should be a smaller varient of RE |

We really need to add a priming time to these things... but I see no reason as to why we can't have a shortcut. Having to equip random junk is what made me never use grenades in MAG, because something meant to be quick and simple should not require fumbling through your loadout. |

they have a priming time. its kinda short, but any longer makes them useless. |
