I haven't played EVE for at least 3-4 years but I remember the big hype around CCP publishing the EVE API which allowed anyone to write applications which would get data about EVE characters, skills, equipment etc.
Once Dust is released, will it also be incorporated into the API systems?
I really would like to have updates on my character flowing through to my Android phone with some kind of cusotm app. Maybe even the option for corp/clan information too, in-game mail, chat etc'. |

I did get a sort of reply.
Dust and EVE are both going to be using the CREST API which is still being written.
Once published, this will be the reference: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/CREST_Documentation
Until then it's mostly filled with placeholders.
CREST will provide both authentication and data API's so it should greatly enhance any current implementation for EVE too. The current EVE implementation pretty much only provides data.
In the future we will probably also get an API for market transactions for read/write and not just read.

I'm certainly hoping that the API for Dust is made available to us under the same system as it is in EVE.
