As of today, Tuesday July 24th, this same error has started happening on my ps3. Have not seen the problem before today. This is a known issue: "On very rare occasions user may get a data corrupt message in game, restarting the title resolves the issue"
But the error has started happening repeatedly. Just now it occurred twice in a row on Plateau Skirmish, East side of map, facing West. Hope this isn't some server updates gone wrong, or worse, actual ps3 HD issues!
The error is accompanied by full screen flashing, and freezing, but game audio appears to continue. Error message reads, "The installed game is corrupted. The game will close. You must delete the installed game and then reinstall it to play the game." |

An update on the "game is corrupted" issue:
*my ps3 is a slim 120gb model that has good airflow around it, and has been stable for other gaming/streaming uses. *tried shutting down ps3 completely, but error still happened on next play. *after this error started, Dust514 would sometimes not finish loading, idling at 3D planet-view loading screen. *updated ps3 from 4.20 to 4.21 (optional update), but still got the error. also game began to "hiccup" lag after this update. *corrupt error does not necessarily correlate to where you are on-map, or direction you are facing, but it seems to happen more readily if facing West on East side of Plateau, as mentioned in previous post. Also, the error has been happening while I was playing Anti-Vehicle ops with the top-model swarm launcher. No idea if the animations or effects from that weapon might be related to the issue.
Possibly solved: in the end, I uninstalled Dust514 and re-downloaded. Successfully played a few matches last night without the error, so this may have fixed the problem. Will update if corrupt game error reoccurs.
Hope the Devs are keeping an eye on this issue, since crash-errors are a big deal in match-based games, especially when you are 15-minutes into a successful battle, and the crash means that you don't receive any Skill Point rewards for your efforts. So sad! |
