There are a number of things that I think should be added for improved game play or should be changed for balance.
Weapons currently the breach assault rifle is the only weapon of choice, I think the best way to fix and get the other weapons used is to slightly improve the other weapons at their intend role. Over all I think adding a little bit of kick(for all you saying that futuristic guns wont have any kick, it could be the magnetized plasma pulls on the gun muzzle and creates and effect similar to kick) would go a long way, and give some purpose to guns like the burst, or tacticle.
The other weapons in the game could do with a slight tweaking like extending the range on standard shotguns and increasing the spread on breach along with a large clip would help out shotguns. More ammo on the mass drivers would help make them more durable, they run out of ammo to quickly.
On to things I would like to see in the game
Customizable weapons I want to be able to have different sights, attachments such as range finders(simple a holographic line showing bullet or grenade path) underbarrel and just more customizable(it could be explained in game that the manufacture subcontract individual parts allowing part compatibility and exchange). I know a lot of people will think this makes the game to much like other Fps, but personally this was one of the most useful features on those other games, and one I think dust could use.
A more detailed holographic interface, that could show different thing by having different load outs. Right now it doesnGÇÖt feel like were fighting thousands of years in the future it feels like any 21st century war does just more armor. This could give soldiers a futuristic edge in combat, and add a interesting element to combat. Depending on how you have the helmets sensors set up it could show, your bullet/grenade/massdriver thingy trajectory, with certain loadout it could show an outline of the enemy even though wall, at close range(like the helmet can detect heat or EM signatures and translate that data into military information ), there is all kinds of different things different sensors could show. And one more important fact about this, is a distance finder simply have holographic lines showing distances, and other relevant information this feature could be on or off with the one of the more useless buttons.
Natural effects, such as day and night, rain snow and any other number of things could be had that would require different tactics to deal with, different lightings underground or in a dark building there so much that could be done with this and would be something else that would make each map more interesting.
A malleable world, this may not be possible with the current engine but CCP should consider this atleast in future development. For examples when I hit a street light in a multi-ton tank it should be plowed over, when said multi-ton vehicle falls off a tall build it should leave a crater. And when we get different worlds, ice could crack and breack under heavy things less durable buildings could be simply run over, ect there is so many thing that could be done with this. The current engine may not be able to handle this but in the future this could be an epic feature, and should long be consider by ccp.
I know not everyone agrees with this stuff but its stuff I think would improve the game and make it a more realistic warfare simulator, as well as a fun game.
