It would be nice to have more filters in our suit than just plain old "visual". We're awesome super soldiers right? It'd be nice to have UV, infrared, thermal, x-ray or something. So that scout suits could actually, you know, scout more effectively. Especially once we have more urban levels, etc.
A really cool DUST-exclusive filter would be based on signature size. That could be quite interesting. |

I think a device like this could definitely work in an equipment slot. You could get really crazy and have a spotting device that actually takes up a weapon slot. I think if this additional visual mode was somehow base on the vehicle/suit your trying to look at that could open up a lot of tactical options. |

Our vision is camera-based not actual vision. With current tech allowing for multi-function cameras as small as some I've seen inside phones, it would be hard for a sci-fi universe to claim they LOST that tech while developing FTL drives and cloning. |

Makes sense. These should be built in settings anyway in the visual systems. |

After the EVE gate exploded and cut off New Eden from Sol, everybody here was cut off. Since the colonists were extremely dependent on supplies from Earth, they (save the Jovians) had to make new lives planetside. It took a long time for the current civilizations to get back into space flight.
It might not have been "lost" as much as it wasn't regained. |

Considering the practical uses, particularly for drone technology (multi-spectrum cameras would be VERY helpful there), it doesn't make any sense for this to have been NOT reproduced. |

Nah, I just figured I'd mention that. |
