In a post of mine in "Bugs" about landing on the MCC with a Dropship, a lot of great Ideas were posted. Here are some of the ones I like.

i was thinking of having a spawn point for the attacking team on the mCC. players could man turrets on the MCC. ofcourse, this MCC would have to be built by eve-players and fielded by them for us to use.

To make it balanced, the MCC would need to be very difficult to take over, not just a hack and wait, but a hack, it opens up the engine room and you need to shoot coolant rods or engine part of what ever kind of engine it uses :P |

I was thinking just to get into the MCC drop bay door you have to neutralize three turrets on it (Which can be controlled and mounted by players in a fitting screen at some later point), And then have two people hack the door at the same time to get access, and if one hack attempt fails the other is negated. And that's just to get in... I'll also note from running around on the MCC there appears to be a perfect place to make the aforementioned entrance location on the nose...

It almost sounds like a mini mission within a PvP battle What if we put a tractor beam on it as well to freeze enemy ships so they can be picked off |

Given the description of the MCC in one of the DevBlogs on the main site, I'm fairly certain that the commander will have full control over it once the command interface goes in. As to the rest of these ideas, this is some really good stuff. I was always more of a fan of boarding the titan in 2142 anyway, since using the missile silos took a -long- damn time, and there was always the risk of the enemy pulling a counterattack out of their collective asses and taking all the silos. Much safer to rush the thing and take it out from the inside. Now, that's not a MAKE THIS GAME LIKE 2142 statement, just a statement toward the quality of the ideas presented. One thing I think would be interesting is that when Fighter aircraft are implemented, to have them deploy from that catapult-looking structure on the back of the Cestus, or wherever such a structure is on the other racial variants. Combine that with allowing them to be piloted only by players in Pilot suits, and making them fairly expensive, and you'd eliminate the concerns of all the people who fear them from having played BF3, and seen them being used as sniper taxis. I'm definitely keeping my eyes on this thread, because I like the idea of giving the MCC as large a role as possible. |
