All,
I have my Omega 3D Headset by Creative Labs setup in PS3. It is working fine outside of the game (for example, under Accessory Settings where you can configure microphone settings). However, it is not working in matches. While in-game, under Options, Voice Chat is turned ON.
Is there something I'm missing?
Thanks, HC |

You have to enable those from PS3-menu (XMB) first after that your USB-phones should work with dust.
edit: Or thats the way I got my 10 year old logitech USB-set work. |

I have enabled them from the PS3 menu, and so when I go to adjust the volume or settings in the PS3 (XMB) menu, I can hear myself talking without any problem. Unfortunately people in-game can't hear me talk. |

I've only been in a couple matches where I could hear anyone talk, and I'm pretty sure nobody can hear me. I have voice chat turned on, so where is all the talking? Or is it just uncommon to be in a game with other mics? |

It's also a possibility that dust is just being picky with the hardware it supports, also if your headset is USB2.0 it might also cause some issues as PS3 supports officially only USB 1.0 (unless slim models have this upgraded). USB 2.0 are supposed to be fully backwards compatible with 1.0 but who knows how well the manufactures actually do backwards compatibility. |

many have voice chat turned on even if they don't have a mic so they can at least listen when someone is using comms. |

Is "comms" just ingame chat..? Or something I'm unaware of? ~.~ |

FYI... I was just trying out different things to see how they work.
I was able to set up my Lotitech USB wireless headset with no problem and speak and be heard in Dust.
I then setup a Samsung, bluetooth, ear-bud/mic. It worked fine in the PS3 setup and test areas. I made the changes so it was selected as the speaking input device and made sure voice was ON in Dust. With everything else about the game and the PS3 the same, people could not hear me in Dust.
I don't know what the differences are. Both times I was allowing the speakers on the TV the be the listening/output sound device, and even tried it with the Samsung ear-bud being the output sound device, but no luck with that, either.
FWIW...

Could be the blue tooth vs. wired thing, though why it should matter I have no idea. |

I had an identical issue with my official Sony Bluetooth headset for the PS3. I couldn't use it for in-game comms. What I did was run through the PS3 settings and I eventually found that you don't just need to set up the volume etc' for the headset itself but also set it up as the default audio chat device for the PS3. If I remember correctly, it started working in Dust after that. |

I noticed this problem on a lot of PS3 games. The most common fix I've found is: Make sure that your mic is on before you log into the game. If voice chat is on in your settings, double check and make sure your mic isn't on mute. (If it has this function.) Cheers, hope this helps. If not, send an email to support. They'll get you squared away. |

Got a new mic myself today and got it working, kind of....
I joined a match in progress and got a mic check from the opposing team. I could listen in on their conversations, but I couldn't hear anyone on my team.
Very odd... |

That's a known bug. You basically get a random voice channel in battle. Quite a lot of people have gotten the enemy. I've even seen one guy who could hear both teams. |

for those of you with bluetooth issues. Confirm all the above settings are correct (in-game and XMB) and try re-pairing your mic using the USB cable. (you can get rid of the cable after you re-pair) |

(you can get rid of the cable after you re-pair) Also, make sure your headset is configured as the PS's default mic for audio/video. It's somewhere in the settings but I can't remember where without looking. |
