So when I started up the game and began to create my character I went through the process of selecting races, bloodlines, and classes. Out of curiosity I created another character of a different bloodline but same class. Of course there was not much of a difference. Maybe CCP has something planed for bloodlines already but I sort of thought that what if the bloodlines determined what you will become on the battlefield rather than just selecting a random one and then picking a starter class? It is not to say if you select a bloodline, that is the class you will be through out the game, no. I mean you can work on being something else, but that little boost for selecting a class could help, if you wish to focus on what you wish to do on the battlefield. I suppose it is sort of a way to simplify things by making bloodlines more associated to a starting class for those that never tried a FPS or something like that.
Lore would be useful for determining the classes adjacent to the bloodline, there being 3 but because you have 4 classes (Well only 3 now) I guess one can add another bloodline to the bunch? Like, for Amarr, the Ammatar can be added to work as a 4th bloodline for the Heavy, reading up on the EvE lore there are soldiers called Kameiras which are (For those that cringe to see an Amarr with a Minmatar weapon) Ammatar / Minmatar origin. Same could go for other races to add a 4th bloodline, Just for the game.
Just a little thought I'll throw out there, I am not to sure what CCP has planed for that but I thought it was a good idea to just be posted on here. |

You do know that there are more than four drop suit classes right? I wanted to point out that there is also the pilot and command drop suits, which (as a matter of semantics) would count as separate classes all their own.
I don't mind adding more available bloodlines into the factions though (it's not as if there weren't more of thesealready)... but that might be hard to pull off or even pull it off right.
EDIT 1: I've also thought about this "bloodlines mattering very little in the grand scheme of things" and have come up with random ideas of my own. For example, I made on with attack, defense, balanced bonuses so that they could be taken into consideration.
Example: Gallente "pures" = Balanced bloodline. Intaki = The more defense oriented. jin-Mei = The more offense oriented.
EDIT 2: I also thought of the possibility of integrating specialties far more into the faction and bloodline system. Like not just give them weapons based on the tech they prefer to use, but also bonuses, preferably CPU/PG reductions rather than damage... or even exclusive weapon systems that, even though the other races have available (like drones), only a specific faction/bloodline would have access to this specific item. Of course, this is not to say that you wouldn't be able to whip up a few skill boks and train the necessary skills to gain access to such things. |
