Ok, so here's my collected thoughts from the past two weeks, and I'm sure that some of them have been pointed out, but I hope some of them are original. I'd just like to point out that my experience would be more orientated towards RTS\RTT gaming rather than FPS, so I think most of my opinions and suggestions will be made once clan features and MCC gameplay will be introduced, and will be focused more to that end of gameplay. I also think I should say that the fact that whomever is in the MCC will be in RTS syle play is what sold this game for me. As well as the overall did differences to other shooters, and that I think the foundations are in place for a different, and a quite dynamic, game.
1) Orders system - the squad based orders system is way to clunky, in my opinion to be of any use Personally I think it should be a point at crosshairs, press a button to bring up an order menu like the commands in the socom series, which would be far more straightforward, while also leaving more upper echelon commands to the CO. Also having some other type of tag for the squad lead would be better, and having SP boost for carrying out orders, sticking to your squad, etc, would increase tactical gameplay.
2) when the screen says enter turret, I expect to enter the turret, rather than stand outside it in a place which makes no logical sense, the turrets in the last build were better.
3) make war points a corp collective, ie, not belonging to an individual but rather the corp he fights for, as it gives the corp more control over the strategic direction of combat, and make it easier to ensure the best commanders are in command. The last thing one needs is some noob with no understanding of tactics or the like placing one of the sensor node in the most ill advised places.
4) Repair kits shouldn't be proto only, and I think they should have an increase their pg and CPU slightly, as to balance it out, and I think that they should be left as a logistics only piece of equipment.
5) Make a tag for the wounded, and increase time it takes for their clone to die, which will make the nanite injectors more viable. (as I mainly play logistics, I can say I don't carry them. It might also be a good idea to make them look less clunky!)
6) Make the writing bigger. my eyesight might be good, but I find it impossible to read, and the numbers incomprehensible. Also, for some reason, I found the writing in the last build to be easier to read, though that might be just my imagination!
7) HAVs need to be far more expensive than they are, especially the Marauders, I think a high spec Marauder should cost at least 2 million, as they are meant to be, after all, the Titan on the battlefield.
8) Make skills necessary for driving/piloting instead of just calling it in, and add a lock/unlock function to the drivers seat so that when I'm repairing my vehicle some dusce doesn't run up and drive it off to get it destroyed, though of course, he can obviously hack it! (And forever be added to my "to team kill list".
9) Different voice chat channels for communications, squad to squad, player to platoon, etc.
10) get rid of militia HAVs and dropships. Not only does it screw up game balance, but do you really expect militias to have tanks? 11) Make a key for the map, or when the cursor hovers over the Icon make it say what it is as well as the shield Armour indicator.
12) Grenade indicator on the battle map, or some sort of explosives detector module for the drop suit. I mean, if you can travel at the speed of light, you can surely make a scanner that can spot some Semtex.
Overall, I think CCP have laid the groundworks for what will become an excellent game, and one that has the ability to, if marketed right, expand its range further than most other games on the current PS3 market, simply by having more to offer. (Though I have to say the 09 fanciest gameplay appeared more fun than the current version! I want a fighter! [for those of you who don't know a joke...well I guess theirs no point pointing one out! Though I have to admit, I really want a fighter.] Happy hunting people's!)
