I think it would be cool to have some merc controlled Forts on planets of our choosing. Maybe we could have some limited manufacturing abilities within them. This could be used as a Base for our CORP and would be cool to have your CORP stationed on a planet of that CORP's choosing.
This would also give us CORP's something to defend that is ours and give us a home. It would also help us feel like we aren't just the EVE players slaves.
Each base could be upgraded overtime as the corp gets more money. A couple ideas could be.
Training grounds - Where players can be tested in a controlled environment to see if they got what it takes to be in the CORP.
Target range - A target range that is located on a tower with targets that pop out in the distance outside the Fort.
Planing area - Where people can get together when CORP battles and contracts are accepted. This room would have no timer and also be launched by the highest ranking officer that will be participating in that battle.
Tactics and evaluation room - This room would allow access to a table much like the current war room has. The table could have 2 purposes one to plan an attack which can be discussed then uploaded to each soldier then they can view it on the in room tv or in the NEOCOM. The other purpose of the table could be to view past battles. Not a first person view of every player though. Just an overhead view that shows where the enemy team was. It would be like a satellite recording the match looking down. The zoom should be a little more than it currently allows for in game though. So individual players are clearly visible. This would help revise battle strategies.
Weapons Room - This room could have variations of different types of weapons that the CORP has bought and placed in there for people to try out before they buy. This would be completely CORP driven no guns besides the ones they have place in there. After a player leaves the room however the gun is placed back on the weapon rack so the next soldier can test it out.
Vehicle Shop - Tanks, Dropships, and more wahhoooo. LOL. This would be CORP controlled and bought. It will basically passively repair tanks and other vehicles that are damaged on the battlefield provided that weren't destroyed. Players with permission to use it would have to set them to be repaired then would be informed when they are done.
Vehicle Track- test drive vehicles that are bought by the CORP for players to test out or if they want to test a new fit they can check it out there.
Manufacturing floor - Basically limited production would be available to CORP's that had this installed. The salvage that is picked up on the battlefield would be put to use here. I would like to see it where the salvage could be used to create lower level items like shield reps armor reps and some other things so CORP's can help the newer plays get on their feet. Maybe some other stuff depending on how far it's willing to be taken. I know a lot of EVE players are looking forward to making some serious ISK from us mercs and thats why I say limited production.
Defensive capabilities could basically be the same as how the maps are now in ambush mode. Each base could have a rating so the attacking team has an idea of how tough the battle is going to be. If they have a LVL 10 base for instance there are a lot of turrets and vast clone bays that provide the defenders with a lot of clones. A LVL 1 base would be fairly unprotected with few turrets and a very low clone reserve.
I know I've forgotten something lol but that is the basic rundown and why these would be useful for us CORP's. Give's people incentives to join our corp and gives us something to call our own.
High sec bases would only be allowed low level defenses since merc's are frowned upon and null sec bases are allowed anything that can be produced since it would be risky to be out there but offer rewards for us to join up with a EVE corp or at the very least form an alliance with them so we can base up on there planets.
(these bases would not be to get planetary materials so we wouldn't be interfering with the production of EVE players) |

Are they going to include some of the things I've listed as wanting to be able to have in them? Or are the bases just for defensive purposes? |

What else would people like to see available? I'm kinda curious to hear what everyone would like. |

I think Dust corps will pretty much have the same power as EVE corps i.e. building infrastructure etc. so that it's a fair playing field and neither game has an advantage
Unfortunately, I don't think dust players will be allowed to go to other planets without EVE players but to balance it out, EVE players can't take planets without dust players
I'm hoping for some sort of conference room where we can negotiate with other alliances and EVE alliances Also a proper war room to map out attacks on planet districts etc. |

Yeah a conference room is a great idea to have. Inviting a CEO over to check out some previous battles your corp was in might be a good addition as well. So they know what to expect before they decide to hire you to help them win a war.
The Pre-battle plans are a must for me. I've been looking for a FPS that allows for that for a very very long time. I love strategies and really want to see how some strategies work well while other ones flop.
I'm going to create a CORP so I know Squads are formed correctly. I plan on using a lot of strategy to accomplish wins and save ISK. Designated vehicle personnel and such. Since it is a game I plan on changing it up ever so often so people don't get bored though. |

Well you can only be as strategic as your team lets you so unless you find a group of very mature gamers who are allright with being a pilot of a vehicle all game, that's gonna be difficult. I'd love to be in a corp with that much structure and discipline but I doubt it can be that big because of the maturity and discipline involved |

Yup exactly that is why I'm making one. I have a buddy that LOVES tanks lol. So I asked him to be my go to for when we need a Tank guy. He said he's cool with it and is looking forward to it.
It's going to be hard but man the pay off will be 110% worth it. I would say more about my plans but since corps aren't available I'm trying to keep my mouth shut. Don't want someone using the same idea :).
If your wanting to be in that kind of Corp add me up on the PSN Holyphantomcow. Once they add that functionality I'll be sending everyone a Corp invite. I'm not going to be overly strict though since it is just a game and will only use that kind of battle structure when we are in Corp Battles and when we really really need to win or need to practice. |

I'll definitely add you if you're planning to have a corp like that.
As for the OP, I'd like the corp to be as independent as possible aka we can mine the planet, manufacture weapons and tanks, build defences etc.
There's not much I can really add to your post but I think some features may be slightly too indepth such as a weapons room. If there is a conference room, I want the room to have holograms as capsuleers can't go on planets but it would be cool to have everybody sitting down at a table, negotiating |

Thanks for letting some of us know that haven't heard that yet. Until I see in on the DUST514 website or hear it from a dev's mouth it's all rumors to me. Not saying I don't believe you though and i'm glad you posted because hearing that from 2 people puts a little fire to that smoke.
Also any idea's about what people would like on planets would cool and might help the dev's think of something they forgot never hurts to post an idea anyway even if your not sure if it's a good one.
EDIT: define build on planets. That can mean a number of things that could mean you can build up defensive structures before a match begins which is not the same as having a base your corporation calls home. |
