Ok, so after playing the E3 build all weekend, it's time for some feedback! First of all, I'd like to thank CCP for making such an amazing game. Alright, so what I like about the new build:
-Better graphics: I normally do not care about graphics, but let's face; the last build looked like a Playstation 2 game. Thankfully, the new build looks like it would be a PS3 game.
-Improved gunplay/hit-detection: Last build's hit-detection was way WAY off. It seems to be nearly perfect now. The weapons themselves seem to be better also. Thanks for actually giving the Assault Rifles a scope!
-Improved overview map/icons: The instalation icons actually look like guns, not a square with a line sticking out. Also, what happened to small blaster installations?
-Dropsuit/vehicle fitting: It's nice to see what your fit actually looks like, and it lags alot less when selecting slots.
-Game won/loss screen: Showing the SP and ISK as a circle looks nicer than just green text. I wonder what Salvage could be...
There's too many things to list that I think improved. Now for things I think need improving:
-Vehicle controls: It is incredibly difficult to drive an LAV or HAV. Using the Left Stick for all the movements isn't very good. Map accelerate/decelerate to R2/L2 respectivly, or give us the option.
-Map size: I know that this is considered a 'small' map, but it kinda IS small...a bit too small for my liking...
-Squad orders: It would be nice to be able to place attack/defend etc. orders on the primary objectives. Also, the rally function seems to be messed up (but that's already a known issue).
-Draw distance: Everything except the enviroment seems to dissapear when ever it gets about 200 meters away. This is very annoying when trying to shoot down a dropship while in an instalation, or trying to snipe someone.
-Heavy's die too fast: Not really a problem for me since I hate heavy suits but it doesn't seem fair than an Assault Rifle can kill a heavy in about 6 seconds while the heavy machine gun can't do that at all!
I did not seem to encounter any bugs...yet.
On to requests: I have only one: A tool that we can use to ask for ammo/medic etc. This could be very easily implemented. You even have an un-used button (Left D-pad) that would be perfect: hold down L. D-pad, wheel comes up, use the Right Stick to select a request, just as you would select a weapon. Then, an icon would appear over your head, indicating what you are asking for along with a voice (maybe?) The options would be:
-Need ammo!
-Need medic!
- Requesting vehicle pickup
-Need backup!
-Enter my vehicle
-Bail out!
or at least something to that extent.
Well, that's my feedback and requests. |

Are you that guy who was spamming Metal Gear Solid references with my little brother in the corp chat? "War has changed"
A system of commands for quick communications with teammates would be pretty cool. I have a thread full of requests to improve this game, please give it a look if you aren't too busy https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=24431&find=unread |

Yes, that was him.
I personally think the map size is fine. I think it's too big for 12 on 12 actually. I think that map would be great for 24 on 24.
I also think if the heavies had more health they'd be a bit OP. They lack the movement but their gun is fairly strong. An assault can get them easily at a distances or by moving around but up close the heavy is sure to win.
The quick command system would be nice as well. |

Here, this is an example to better show what I mean. It's the 'commo rose' from Battlefield 2.

Yeah, I figured that's what you meant. There are several games that use command options like that, though that one has more options than most. I'd like something like that to be put in DUST. |
