Hello,
I have been reading the forums, but I cannot find the answer. Why is the learning of skill points different from EVE? Why not use the same character creation, and character training of EVE instead of using a new one? If it was the same system, one day you could merge the 2 games, having access to the same character from EVE or Dust, or another game you might create. As it is now, players that play often to dust, will advance a lot compared to players that only play sometime, and mainly advance with passive training. EVE players will not have the time to play at both games too much, but we will want to also have access to Dust. If only players playing a lot advance fast, EVE players will not be interested on beginning another game. On the other side, If they can train the characters normally, and make isk / Aurum in EVE, all of them will normally try to created a Dust character, and play at it from time to time, (or while mining ). In the beginning, at EVE, you also put a bonus to learning using the skills, but you removed it to make the actual passive system that has proved its strong efficiency. Why are you doing again an active skill progression? Some players in EVE, will soon be over the 200M skill points, if they could in a moderate time also begin to learn Dust skills, they would have something good to do, but what are they going to do if they become very close to have all skills?

I understand that console players normally like to gain experience killing like in WOW or other PC games, but doing like this, will make impossible the fusion of the games. console players would probably also try EVE if they could use their character, and EVE players would try DUST if they could use their characters. In EVE, players gain isk killing NPCs, in Dust, they could also give rewards in isk for every kill so that console players gain more if they do better. But giving experience, will make EVE players leave Dust aside as they will think that if they want to play one day, they will gain experience fast (and this is not possible with EVE). |
