I had been following this for awhile as the potential was just to big to ignore. But after playing the closed beta for awhile now there are things players are doing that is just killing any enjoyment to be had.
1. When using grenades and or the mass driver, players are simply jumping to avoid the explosion. It makes using the mass driver absolutely useless as it has to little ammo and the effect of the explosion is not taken in to the "i can jump and aviod it" effect. I don't care if you have to cripple the jump or simple make the damage hit them anyway, it's got to change.
2. The use of the flying vehichles as ramming machines has also got to stop. I don't care how, but it instantly made me think "oh, how...gamey" and killed my interest. There should be a massive amount of damage given to the vehichle for smashing it into the ground plus given to the driver and occupants etc. It's complete B.S. and got to stop.
3. Penalties should be given out to players who start in a match, find they are losing and leave, thus killing the fairness in/of the match and letting the other side be overpowered, thus having no chance of obtaining a victory/win etc. I know some players simply aren't as prepared upon entering and run out of equipment and thus leave but thats their fault and they shouldn't just be allowed to leave with no penalty assigned.
4. This is one i KNOW will **** folk off but i don't care as it directly ffects game balance. The option of letting players buy their way into the best gear. It's absolutely killing the gameplay. Example = One match there was one guy with apparently a suit of white armor and equipment etc who was just running all over the field mowing down opponents with ease. I dumped almost a whole clip in him/her/it and it was like i was shooting a cast iron wall with a BB gun. The only thing that stood a chance at killing him was either whole groups at once or the tanks, it was ridiculous. Now i know ths is only a beta and things are still being worked on, but hopefully those that pay for they're gear will be seperated into groups of higher leveled players to even out the fields, if not it's going to kill the flow, (i know i wouldn't want to get into any match where i was basically just there to fill out the field whilst the bigger powered troops ran around scoring free kills had their way).
As of right now that's all i can think of, hopefully these are taken into account. |

you know what will truly balance the game? when all mechanics are slowly tied into an economy and supply and demand take their blows...
My guess... Faction and Officer gear will trump Aurum gear, and the fact that its not included yet is merely because its a beta, and the method for obtaining such gear will be tied to different game modes... After that fact takes effect, and well im sorry...
This is EVE based not supposed to be balanced... If a group of militia can team up and gank you in your 300,000 ISK tank, or your 100,000 ISK suit of armor in free ****, then the game is functioning, and so far as far as I can tell they can. So fail argument... |
