could you possibly add a bolt action sniper rifle to the game
Minmatar would be awesome :)
could either be mag fed or clip fed
or an uber rifle that can only have one round at a time in it
just a request :) |

I would be surprised if thousands of years in the future people have spread to the stars with faster-than-light ships, yet they still use a primitive bolt action mechanism. |

well seeing that minmatar weps are mostly ballistic then why not have a bolt action rifle? |

actually bolt actions are supremely more accurate compared to semi auto projectile weapons due to the simple fact that in a semi auto when the upper reciever slings back to eject the round and load the next it creates more recoil. you can even aruge that same fact on american abrams (being manually loaded cannons) vs russian autoloading tank cannons. i could go into short and long gas piston recoil systems, belt fed and repeating but ill stay on topic with the bolt action. |

Lore wise we only been in space for not a long time possibly around 400 years at most. Bolt Action Rifel of minmatar nature shooting a depleted uranium dart with an isogen propellent does not sound to far off. |

Nothing to eject from a railgun...its a magnetically accelerated round, so there is no spent cartridge. I would say a magnetically accelerated round fired at massive muzzle velocities is going to be more accurate than any projectile round fired from a cartridge, so it kind of puts both the bolt action or semi-auto weapons out of the running.
Of course, if we assume that there will eventually be sniper rifles for each race, then the Amarr will have lasers and the Minmatar have figured out how to get pinpoint accuracy out of cartridge fired projectile rounds. Railgun could be either Gallente or Caldari, as they both use hybrids. Gallente should really be a plasma rifle, but in eve those are the short range weapons in the hybrid family, with rails being the long range version. I guess you could concede the hybrids to Gallente, let them have the railgun, and give Caldari an unguided hypervelocity missile, as Caldari are technically primary in missiles, even if almost half of their ships are rails. |
