Think of the Replicators from the Stargate series. However, unlike zombies, they they attack for a purpose. As for sleeper drones, a superior AI drone type that dwells in wormholes, those things actually strategize from the beginning when they attack and put out a mean DPS.

This page is highlighting the fear of every other shooter that some people on these forms have because as often as i ve seen someone suggesting something to improve the game there is always some twa............ or i meen l33t telling them to "go back to [insert popular game here]"

Also, there are lots and lots of rocks to mine in EVE. Horde mode and "Zombie Mode" seem like the FPS analog of high sec mining PVE, or even shooting down pirates type stuff. Would have to be done well and not sure if there is a way to make it fresh or original, but it could still fit in the game universe.
