In the past few skirmishes I have played in, several viper dropships have been deployed by single pilots and landed on top of structures that were adjacent to clone units. The pilots would then switch locations to their gunnery seat, and pick off players as they spawned. I went through several rounds with the swarm launcher but was unable to do significant damage to the dropship.
At the end of the match, there were a few pilots with 30ish kills and zero deaths. Looks like as soon as their dropship was taking and damage, they would abandon it and get another, and continue picking off players as they respawned. This seems like a pretty cheap way to get kills with very little way to prevent or counter it. Seems like there should be some way to at least fight back.

In a beta, those who forgo choosing a role and seek to become the "best" at a beta will push the limits in every way possible. Although it seems like they aren't providing any useful playing experience for testing purposes, at the least they are demonstrating what is completely broken, since they are unerring in seeking it out. There is already a solution in place for this behavior that we will see when they are done testing vehicles; vehicles will cost money, and people are not as likely to willingly and casually sacrifice vehicle after vehicle if it cuts heavily into their profit margins.
Also, if they're sitting still, a swarm launcher's not your best option - try a forge gun. |

There getting a lot of playtesting out of the children that fly up high and camp. Why on gods green earth would you farm a K/D during a beta when everything will be wiped? Because its human nature for some people to just play as cheaply as possible. Little children and adults with no life who use tactics like they are following a monkey see monkey do mentality, and frankly I'd rather they find it and abuse it now and not when it goes live. I wait for the day i can call an orbital strike on the kid sitting on his perch. |
