All night long, in 1 second intervals, this one damned cricket in the park outside keeps making this annoying noise.
I need to find my Core Locus grenade stash...

I know if a better brand, but always forget the name.

Saaaame. There are woods right behind my house with the continuous crickets in addition to the ones that do it in intervals. And a lot of them. You'd think something that broadcasts its location would have more natural predators...
I simply have to be on my side to fall asleep, so I can't really wear noise cancelling headphones. Turning up the fan a lot is the only bandaid fix so far. An effective but difficult solution would be to just go to bed early... but we all know that's too hard.

I'm sure it's chirp and not "cip".

Well, the ones in the park below me make a very short sound, it's not really a chirp, a chirp is a longer sound, the sound these guys make is really more a cip, it's only like one fraction of a moment, in which the sound is heard.

I could just have really big ears, but I bought some panasonic ergo ear headphones and can lay my head sideways against the pillow quite nicely with them... Sound quality isn't great, but it blocks out the noise of the planes... Gotta love living near an RAF base. |
