Was it ever considered to give comparable sp or share items across the characters? Like for example why couldn't a veteran dust player also have sp backdated to time of birth?
Just a thought might bring more Dustites to Eve?
Somebody call for an exterminator?

Theoretically impossible, since the characters you created for Dust 514 were mercenaries on a planetary battlefield, while the characters in EVE Online are mercenaries in space (?) and cannot be the same character as in Dust 514, they pilot ships.
Not sure if I confused "theoretically" with "technically"...

Game is still boring as hell. Point-and-click mechanics is why it doesn't bring in enough dust players.
I'll just wait for Star Citizen.

Not sure if I confused "theoretically" with "technically"... So a soldier can't learn the skills necessary to become a pilot? I don't see how that follows. I've advocated for a very long time that all characters should be able to transition from one game to another, with appropriate cosmetic tweaks. I can't see any good reason, lore-based or otherwise, that a New Eden character of any form can't move from one game to another if they are on an account on the EvE database server, Tranquillity. |

I'll just wait for Star Citizen. I'm currently waiting until the 26th so I can join Valkyrie pilots when the VR requirement is lifted. It's the closest thing to Dust that CCP has at the moment, and it's set in space, which is actually preferable to me (I'm originally an EvE pilot). |

Eve is starting to bore me. Once you get the hang of what you want to do to make ISK it plays on easy mode. I chose mining. Now I make 100 mil in a few trips with my mackinaw. everyday. Missions don't pay enough for the time spent grinding to level 4-5 missions with I can do. Exploration too hit or miss, Hauling is boring AF. PvP is not as big a rush as combat in Dust was.

Exploration too hit or miss, Hauling is boring AF. PvP is not as big a rush as combat in Dust was. Mining and Planetary Interaction are both boring as hell. Industry generally is boring as hell. Commerce can be interesting. Ultimately, you find your niche. If you're bored doing industry or mining, hop into a combat ship and go hunting for reds.
Edit: If you want really exciting PvP, join a big player corp in nullsec and you'll get it. |
