 Here

Actually good news for me IMO, I've been looking forward to playing this for quite sometime. Although I can't bring about my Amarrian destruction with my SCR, this will be the closest thing I'll have to CCP in a long time.

I wish I could see the Empire flourish. o7

Those of you who will be playing, see you out there!

Coming out of a long hiatus to say I called it! You are now witnessing the official death of VR. Guarantee it's happening and this will do it. VR is an unwieldy gimmick, pure and simple. Was waiting to be able to play without VR, both because of price point and semi-severe motion sickness. Might get he kids a PS4 for Christmas so I can play this.

I wouldn't say anything is necessarily a gimmick. Everyone thought that motion controls are a gimmick, I mean initially they kind of were, but afterwards they basically got tied into VR.

 VR is still new technology,

 They're a struggling company, CCP.

I mean not only that they have to follow the money. I mean look at these so called exclusives for the PlayStation, only to show up on the other console a year or so later.

I find it interesting that they are going to support KB+M. Espacially since a other famous developer (Blizzard) refuses to do this on Overwatch. Ontop of that i would like to know how on earth they managed to get sony to allow cross plattform play. Previously sony was strictly against that. Its allmost like a miracle how they pulled that off.

Native KB/M is a far superior scheme compared to controller. That's why Blizzard doesn't implement it on consoles.

Right, because new technology is always cheap and perfect right out of the gate...

 Horrible analysis.

Technology is always expensive when it first starts. Blu ray players were hundreds of dollars or more when they first came out. It always takes time for production costs to come down. Just because the price is high now, doesn't mean it won't be more affordable in the future.

FPS games used to give me motion sickness too when Wolfenstein first came out. Now they don't. Why? Because as people get used to developing for technology and finding ways of dealing with problems.

VR may not be a huge deal in the future, but it is far from something that fizzles out before it even gets started.

It's a horrible analysis that VR is expensive for me at present costs? No, that's actually 100% accurate if I'm looking at my pocket book correctly. So what about the future price point. I get motion sick from 2D games, riding in the back of a van and Minecraft every time I play it with my kids. VR and that spinning in Valk would never be something technology could correct for that level of motion sickness. The spinning action for Valk in 2D will probably not even get better for that level of motion sickness.

Just like yesteryear's gimmick of video phoning gave way to simple texting, VR is just too much of an addition and not enough necessity to game play. Actually, DUST proved that point in a big way, I think. Game play is more important and can succeed with the right programming.

I wish I could see the Empire flourish. o7 Those of you who will be playing, see you out there! PSN: slayerxtony Yes, I think I will be playing this. I was always complaining that in EvE you couldn't actually really control the ships, you were more of a Captain, issuing commands through the computer, which then did all the work. The fighters on carriers were more like real piloted ships, and were supposed to be according to the lore of New Eden. Valkyrie was supposed to give players the experience of doing so, and but for the VR which I refused to have anything to do with, would have been for me. Now that CCP has finally accepted that VR is a pointless and frivolous whim of Management, the lack or requirement for VR will allow me to play it.

In the absence of Dust, which in my opinion was dropped in favour of working on VR, it will be good to get back into some sort of real combat in New Eden again. EvE doesn't do that - it's too strategic, really.
