Of course, they would just have to run a code in between the calendar and any program asking for the relevant information. This code would tell the program the day, month and year regardless of the order the calendar gave it in. It would logically work backwards if the calendar asked the program the same.

Yes, of course they are. Date transformations are a standard set of functions on computers. You can give them a date in any format, and they can convert to another format with no difficulty, because ALL dates are actually stored in a standardised format, which coincidentally is very close to year/month/day in function. Modern OSs will "guess" what format you're using based on the computer settings and then you can convert them to something else. Some confusion arises if you haven't set the settings right.... |
