Any estimates on how long it would take to install all the updates now?  My guess is a day.
The thing is, some of the apps I use such as Twitter aren't giving me notifications, and I think that the lack of updates to my PC might be the problem... If that's not the problem, I can't find what is.
I've searched everywhere all over the web for fixes to this problem with the apps, and I've done the steps as instructed but it's still fvcked.
The same thing started happening on my Windows Phone (yes I have Windows Phone, rip) with Windows 8.1. I get emails and sms's normally but the apps are botched, and I've tried updating it but it says it's got the latest update installed so I dunno...
Another thing that is connected between my devices is the fact that I can't set the notifications options in Settings of both my PC and phone for the Twitter app and the Tubecast For Youtube app specifically, they just don't show up.
I'm guessing you guys won't know the answer to this dilemma either, but on the off-chance that you do, SAVE ME PLS!

Just make sure to not install the Creator's Update yet.
I did and had a bunch of bugs:
- After shifting around my live tiles, Windows shifted them some more after the next restart
- I had a notification banner appear in the layer behind the task bar, instead of in front of it
- Whenever I log in, my secondary monitor stays black for up to five seconds
- When I boot, my desktop colors are off at first
- After installing the update, Windows 10 reverted the registry entry that turns off startup delay
- After install my secondary monitor's wallpaper was changed to copy my primary monitor's
- Windows Defender cannot be opened with a double-click
Knowing Microsoft, half of these will only be fixed in Redstone 3 or never at all. They still haven't made tablet mode usable, after all. Then again, the bloggers also don't dare to criticize the tablet mode and its current condition looks like no one ever actually tested it, so maybe they aren't even aware.
Do you have an SSD or HDD? With the former, updating will take a few hours at most. With the latter, a few days would be thinkable. It also depends on your internet bandwidth, though.
Also, the Windows Phone thing is just part of Microsoft being Microsoft. I got a Lumia 620 and it works fine for the most part, but remember having had issues with the Live Tiles. It's not as fluid as WP 7 used to be, though. They kinda downgraded that with every update.
Heh I turned off updates just so it didn't start updating random apps while I was playing online for long periods of time...since I had 15mbit/s download speed back then it would render me useless in an online match. I had no problems with the fact I had no updates running for over a year, how is that strange? Nothing would change except game updates. 
All my main system files are located on my SSD, I have most of my games including Steam on the HDD, and am currently getting 30mbit/s download during daytime, it seems to drop ten-fold during late night hours...

You above peeps read this:
If you type "services" in your searchbar located next to the start button on your taskbar, and click on "Services" you will see a bunch of programs which can run various parts of your PC.
When you scroll all the way down, you should find the service "Windows Update"
When you right click it and go to its properties, there's an option of completely disabling it, which stops all system-related updates on the computer.
It's kind of a hack-y way of turning off updates but it's the only way with Windows 10.
It's a shame it basically turn off the ability to install apps from the windows store aswell, so when I want an app I just set the update service to automatic while the app is being downloaded, then disable it again.
Fenychs, you call me drunk, I call you blind! I said I had 15mbit/s download, that's megaBITS not BYTES It's only 1.5mb/s, every time my mom would scroll down facebook on her phone I'd have a hard time playing.

I didn't think of that, but wouldn't have done it anyway. Yes, it's hacky, and I think you would find Microsoft thinks badly of it. Nevertheless, it certainly is the only way to turn off updates with Windows 10. Kudos to you for thinking of it, but I think it's ill-advised other than in an Enterprise environment where all updates are controlled and rolled out centrally.

I'll see what happens tomorrow when I try to update it... Clench buttocks!
