Me either... D1ck was like the calmest person to ever grace the comms with his chilled out, smooth Irish vocals.
Perhaps someone didn't understand that we all shouted skraaaaaabs at each other as a sign of affection? |

I hope I made those scrubs proud! DMG gets mad props for always fighting. Scrappy bunch. Ya'll could have done so much better if your scouts (Mainly D1CK) learned that speed hacking a point does absolutely nothing if you can't follow up and die in the process. Literally farming. I remember that everything else was pretty solid, just that for some reason ya'll always wanted to try and sneak objectives that were obviously guarded rather than prep a force, hack and then rush. Reminds me of Gav in FA as well. Dude would go 15 deaths in a game and get off like one good hack. Just bleeding clones on the rest. God I miss this game. This^. I was in DMG for a short while. 3 Min scouts in every single PC minimum. 1 on homepoint, one to roam the inner points and one harassing enemy homepoint. Sure it was great that they could hack a point in 2 seconds no matter where it was on the map but they couldn't hold it. In no time the point would be red again, the min scout dead, and we'd lose the match. And as soon as the match ended D1ck would just go to screaming at everyone in corp chat for an entire hour. Super toxic team enviroment. It didnt take me long to get fed up with everyones crap and leave. Being the only Americ*nt in the whole corp didnt help much either.
I rang for them from time to time, not much yelling to be honest.
Nothing like Zatara rage at least.
But the tactics was always the issue I had. If they buckled down and committed to more meta tactics they would have been a lot stronger.
The skill was there, just not the tactics.
Re-Re-Re-Re-Retired PC Scout. I miss the old days ;_;

What sort of information could even be gleaned? Maybe which districts would be attacked, and the composition of teams, but I can't see either of those being especially game-changing. If there were spies actually in the PC relaying the tactical information back then I would be impressed.

I had a friend tell me about how he sabotaged a PC by giving an EVE pilot the coordinates. Apparently they blew up another capsuleer over the district that would normally be nearly impossible to find (something about the guy being cloaked and can't be found without some extra serious equipment, or in this case just knowing their location). Pretty cool stuff.
He got paid by the other team, and I told him he was doing the New Eden thing right.

Im not saying there were no spies, Im certain that there were, its just that they were like the neighborhood kids running around playing hide and seek and using fake guns on each other. Literally no one cared cuz it effected no one but themselves.

Outside of that though their really wasn't much purpose. |

Other than knowing the enemies every move during a PC.
Spying was real and it worked something like this..
Lets call the spy Ratman. So Ratman is in AE happily and there is a major attack from SOG on multiple districts lined up.
Good old Ratman lets AE know there leaving and applies to SOG getting a friend or another SOG member to vouch for them.
Ratman is now in SOG and spying on all chats about the upcoming PC's.
Good old Ratman is still in the AE chat channel but now has a new chat channel the SOG PC chat channel.
So here is Ratman now deploying into the first PC attack on the SOG side listening to the FC of SOG.
Ratman keeps the chat tab open and voices in and out of each channel relaying what SOG's next move is and they find out they are in for a nasty surprise AE is 5 steps ahead of them...
HMM how the f did that happen scotty?
SOG sends 4 players to the letter A but AE has 8 players there waiting wtf. So SOG moved those 4 players to the letter C and AE already has another 8 players there waiting.
SOG orbital on the letter B now, Ratman tells AE everyone clear B hostile orbital incoming etc.
The tanks are holding the homepoint let them have it! we got the other 4!
I have seen and heard way to much to say spies were never a real thing.

But did that ever actually happen though? That would take a huge amount of work to pull off. Plus, even if they had the information it wouldn't guarantee that they'd have the skills to beat the other team.

No, because if there were 8 mercs at one point and another 8 at the other... who manned the fragging tanks!?
