With the Dust community he has a non-VR problem that won't go away. Hmmm... http://fortune.com/2017/02/19/virtual-reality-vr-sales/From that report, hopefully CCP isn't totally invested in VR or it may be their undoing. . Played contra on VR the othe day & it was freaking awesome to be honest......

If you remind yourself while reading it that no one from CCP, including the CEO, is going to say anything publicly about the new FPS before FanFest, then this interview can be interpreted as encouraging.
It does agree with what we have been told by Rattati, that the new FPS has to achieve success on its own, before they start any cross game integration with EVE.
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

. Exactly my point......they ( Hilmar ) likes the way Sir Ratatouille is advancing the game & is giving his silent nod to proceed with phase two . .

Godspeed BigStuarty ... i like your line of thinking. I wish i was a game coder to help you in that journey. The problem is it would become so successful that it would shame CCP for giving up on Dust. There are no games out like Dust ... the versatility and longevity of desire for gameplay dust provided is unmatched. I wish the possibility of Nova would be Dust 514 competition ... as i have heard, Nova is still being worked on. However it would be great to play Dust while we wait. |

Glass Bowtie wrote:I know, and I know they have to talk about EVE in an interview like this. But we all know EVE is their baby, and they're gonna take care of it. Outside of the things everyone automatically knows without even reading the article, not a lot was said. Propaganda machine functioning as intended. On a side note I was perusing the EVE forums last night and saw 1 thread dedicated to, and another thread momentarily derailed into our plight here. The thread gained the expected amount of traction, but I must say it warmed the cockles of my clone heart. It got me wondering about the possibility of organizing something along the lines of the Jita Riots. Obviously it would be difficult/impossible to produce a large turnout numbers wise, and I don't see any kind of demands ever being met due to said protests. But some form of awareness campaign would be cool. An ingame statement that says there are EVE pilots who know what happened here (and what's still happening here), and that they stand in solidarity with Dust/Legion/Nova mercs. Most probably a dream, I know. And I don't have a PC/EVE to be able to actually contribute, but maybe a week long rolling Embargo/Blockade/Shutdown of 1 or more systems at a time in Molden Heath? Trade Ban, Travel Ban, assaults on Concorde spacecraft? Again, not for any gain. Just to say for CCPs FPS rejects what we can't say- "we won't be forgotten". May is coming up, that's all I'm saying. The lore nerds could have a field day. *post I spoke of-* https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=512673&find=unread First things first. I love your idea, but we need to look at this potential riot from an Eve players perspective.
What is Molden Heath? A low traffic pipeline connecting Great Wildlands (nullsec) to Lowsec minmatar space. Its essentially a gas station in the middle of nowhere. That's why they gave it to the Dust players in the first place.
What effect would some form of riot/protest have on players in the surrounding regions? Honestly I'd say very little. It would be relatively just as easy to use any of the surrounding regions to enter lowsec/hisec.
How hard would it be to pull off? Now this is where the cards are in our favor, it would be extreely easy as far as restricting access to the area and causing havoc is concerned, Molden Heath is a circle, with clusters branching off of the 4 main systems of that circle. We could very easily establish gatecamps at every stargate in the circle (only 4 gates) and that would effectively eliminate any regular flow of traffic through the area. No supplies in, no supplies out.
Now lets talk about manpower and what Eve players think of Dust. How many of you play eve? If you dont and have the ability to (eve is free now, just need a computer) you should create a clone an start training into gatecamping related skills. Most eve players never played dust. Considering that, it would be hard to find any real support in New Eden for a cause like this. But there are still enough ex-dust vets who are just as bitter as we are that could and would participate, we simply need to reach them. The beauty of eve is that so few players can make such a huge difference, I'd say to lock down something as minimal as molden heath, we would need at minimum 100 pilots of various skill levels.
And finally, resistance. We might possibly experience some pushback from the Alliances inhabiting surrounding regions, Great Wildlands and Wicked Creek and the rest of the outlying areas are home to some serious corps who arent afraid to fly out and stomp your teeth in, so we need to watch whos toes we step on. That being said I happen to live in Wicked Creek and could potentially build some support for this movement rather than have them fighting us.
Some other things to take into consideration.
Our target, Molden Heath, although easy to conquer would be relatively unnoticed by the community. We should discuss finding a better target.
Drawing support from eve pilots, would most likely be done best through the eve forums. We should consider making a post there about the protest once we've got a better idea of what we really plan to do.
You can reach me almost any time day or night on EVE through EVEmail, my character name is Arksun. I'll be happy to help organize this as best I can but I feel like there's several logistical issues to work out on top of potentially finding a better target.
Is there a discord server we could possibly all gather in to discuss this further?

Unfortunately I have no way to participate in EVE. I can spit ball and theorycraft, but that's about it. There is a Discord channel for Dust mercs, but it is majority CCP apologists who are more interested in CCP worship and ignoring Dusts balance issues and recreating/intensifying them in Nova.
I don't see much coming from these forums either due to the same issue, CCP apologists. The largest pool of recruits seems to be the EVE forums, ironically enough. But even there the most well meaning posts generally boil down to "Dust should never have been on a console", leaving EVE players as the victims and Dust players as the enemy.
With my limited knowledge of EVE as it is currently it seems the best bet would be to get enough people into an area who hope to take part in a "New Jita", then either hope for, or through manipulation attempt to create a misunderstanding that would hopefully snowball into something bigger.
But at the end of the day, unfortunately, there is next to nothing I can personally do to advance the issue.

Lol nah , I just call it how I see it.....if they weren't going to make a FPS, Hilmar wouldn't have said & given CCP Rat and company so much credit by saying ( Dust514 near the end of PS3 cycle was becoming 'Something Awesome' ) . Trust me , they gave us a small sample of how a real ( FPS ) game should be running with a skill tree , suit building , options upon options systems etc .....ain't no games out there like that....EVEONLINE speaks for itself....
