This is and was always my pet peeve with CCP - like anyone else, they talk about things (vapourware), and then they demo things but then they completely clam up, until the day they can it. I have absolutely zero faith that they will ever deliver on their promises of Nova. The way they handled the Dust fiasco tells me they always intended to get rid of it. Nova was no better than a stop gap to keep people hanging. If they ever deliver on Nova it will be a pleasant surprise but their track record and the repeating pattern of these things tells me there's a very low probability of it.

The one thing that still gives me hope is the fact that they are supposedly still working on it. This remains to be seen, but if we can have a leap of faith about it, it's still a possibility. From what I've heard, though, I'm still of a mind that it will be an FPS first (there's plenty of those) and an EvE linked product second. Since CCP's track record of adding significant functionality is in the garbage after Incarna and Walking in Stations, I doubt that Nova would end up being anything but an FPS, without any real EvE link, in which case, I'm not really interested.

To clear up some things:

- As far as we know, Project Nova is not, nor ever was, vaporware. I'm still not sure why people keep saying this when CPM Kevall Longstride posted a video on youtube showing gameplay of it at Fanfest 2016 and there were -multiple- players, including myself, who can confirm.

- Saying that Nova will fail because of Dust 514 fails to take into account a great number of factors, none more prevalent than the fact that it's almost entirely different team of developers.

- Facebook posts are likely the last place you will see any official news of Nova. The CPM has made an effort to keep you guys informed before anyone else, and that's why you were told about Project Nova's development prior to the playtest at Fanfest 2016.

- The reason for CCP's secrecy, in my opinion, is because anything they say is turned around and twisted into perpetual pessimism, as well as the tendency to speculate way too hard on irrelevant things (see Facebook post saying that Nova is being released next month). That said, when it becomes beneficial for you guys to know more about Nova, you will probably be the first ones -to- know.
