Server code is gone, man. There's no switch to turn on.

Why do we keep getting people asking for this?!! It should have been obvious long ago that this was not possible. A commercial operation just doesn't keep server infrastructure just sitting around waiting for the day they decide to give us one last go at it. The servers would have been redeployed long ago, probably for testing, or maybe for other games. There will be a small amount of redundancy built into the server farm but this is to take the slack if something goes wrong, not to be wasted on running a game they've already declared dead.

I guess it might have been the F2P nature of the game that gave people the idea that CCP just had servers sitting around for our benefit, but ultimately, the game was in fact P2W, and when the revenue shrunk to a level where it just wasn't profitable anymore, that's when CCP would have decided to pull the plug. The rest is now history.

OP, please, and everyone else who keeps posting these pleas, just give it up. It's not going to happen.

While this is all probably true, it doesn't hurt to continue to reaffirm our support for this game, and its future incarnations.

Are you all assuming Unholy's mention of a 'last Christmas hoorah' means flipping the switch on a lost server... Maybe he was thinking more along the lines of an announcement on Project Nova... or at least a new wallpaper of a snowy battlefield laden with Dust mercs of all races holding hands around a Dustmas tree...

It's not a finished game put sounds cool.
