Playing the same games, over and over. I get bored with one, I switch to the other, but they start getting more and more boring over time, so I start hesitating and can't decide what to do.
Eating the same food.
Sitting in the same chair.
Not leaving home unless I absolutely need to.
I'm tired of the same shizz repeating itself, when will things change?

I guess this must be what addiction feels like. As soon as Dust closed down, I started a process of weening myself off it. I didn't even bother trying to play other games, they just didn't cut it. I did eventually go back to EvE but even that isn't what I remember it to be and has not the same allure as Dust.
These days, I visit the forum out of sentimentality but I don't suffer the withdrawal symptoms anymore, they're long gone. Instead in their place is a vision of how NOVA should be if I am going to be interested in playing it. I'll start getting excited again when they announce the Alpha or the Beta, not before. I know how CCP works - if they can shaft a whole dedicated player base, they can do anything, in the name of a buck. I wouldn't even put it past them to shaft the EvE player base if they decided it was a good idea.
Hopefully they're intelligent enough to understand everything they do rests on the continued success of EvE. They should have integrated Dust into EvE and they should integrate NOVA into EvE so that they don't consider them separate worlds but part of the one. That way, there will be the continuity in NOVA that already exists in EvE and should have existed in Dust. |

I've been binge re-playing old RPGs from PS1 that I haven't touched in like 15-20years, and lots of Minecraft and Fallout...
Nothing to fill the online multiplayer space shooter niche that Dust filled.
